If anyone remembers a long time ago, in another thread so far away, we discussed a redditor who decided to bust out of 4/24 in a big way? (I know, that was so last month, but I found the start of that brief conversation HERE and follow up HERE as refreshers)

Well, he has slowed down but involuntarily, as I suspected. Post from yesterday indicated he's decided on a time-out after getting denied from Discover for a It card, apparently he's 0/12 this month. Here's the full update: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/akyz4k/discussion_thread_january_29_2019/efaq2xv/

Just another reminder that while some would say to sprint with the tougher anti-churning rules coming from everywhere, it would appear you CAN go too fast in this race :) I think we should still have a roadmap that falls somewhere in between the tortoise and hare. :p

I am on the fence about what I should do. I typically pay for all Disney trip expenses with gift cards. I need about $1,000 more to complete my resort stay. I know Target isn't the best deal, but I think it is currently the best I have available to myself. The only other option I think I have is to use the gift cards I have saved and then do the remaining balance on my CIP for the MSR. That would be 3,000 UR worth $45 when transferred and redeemed on my CSR. I'm thinking the $50 instantly with Target 5% is the simplest option (unless I am missing something or a deal out there).

The $1,000 is not necessary for the CIP MSR. I am already over $1,000 on the card in a week of receiving it and I have an insurance charge coming that will put me way over the telecom bills and regular spend I am already putting on it.

I heard back from Marriott again. They were basically like, don't know why you can't see your 25k night but we can. Then they listed the details of each night, which all seem right. Does that mean I will have to *gasp* talk to someone to apply my 25k night? :faint:

When is your trip?

Does anyone have an opinion on the Alaska Air Visa, in comparison to Citi AA Advantage Plat mastercard for travel between Alaska and the lower 48 specifically SEA or LAX? I'm specifically looking to gift these points or to purchase the tickets for family there, with intention of keeping card maybe two years. How are they in regards to transferring points to others? Alaska Air is offering 30k miles and companion fare with no blackout dates, and AA 50k miles.

Do you have a CIC..if so you get 5x URs purchasing gift cards at office supply stores..or if A member of BJs they sometimes run sales on Disney GCs ...not sure if it’s better than Target

I applied him for the Blue Biz in like early Nov he didn't get the pop up but then late Nov I applied him for the Gold and he got the pop up. Also, then tried the Hilton Biz a few weeks later and he got the pop up. Didn't go through with those two apps. Then got him the Amex Amazon Biz card and he got the gift card for that. Then a few weeks ago I got him the Green Personal card and no pop up. I have been putting a lot of spend on his amex cards. Got $1,000's in Disney Giftcards with the offers so I thought that's why the pop up went away
I got the biz green about 2-3 months back...got no points awarded. Don't know if I'm now on the naughty list or what but I'm annoyed b'c it takes up a space

When is your trip?
I'm around 50 days out and I usually have the magical room paid off by 30 days. I will still want to accumulate more if I can for food and extras up until I depart.

Sadly no. The CIP is my first business card. CIC is on my radar next for office supply stores!

If I had a card with a warehouse bonus that would be great. Costco member here, but I've purchased from BJs in the past. I would do the online membership if there was a promo better than the 5%.

Not that this makes up for not getting the bonus, but charge cards don't count towards your 5 credit card limit with AmEx and since it's a Biz it shouldn't be counting towards anyone elses rule either. Not much of a consolation but it shouldn't goof anything else up at least.

I bought some last year at I think 8% when membership wasn’t required to pay my DVC dues but haven’t looked lately to see what the discount is..I know back then it was different on some GC denominations

Sorry you didn't receive points BUT since it's a charge card it doesn't count against the Amex 5 credit cards and since it's a biz it won't count against Chase 5/24. So happily, the only space it's taking up should be in your sock drawer!

8% would be worth it! I just did a RMN deal for ShopDisney and it went pending. It claims "no gift cards," but I figured I would try based on what people on the gift card thread have been posting. Is there a limit for RMN deals? I know a lot here do them and its my first time venturing outside of ebates.

@kmc8826 --sorry you got the annoying emails, too. I'm hoping the numbers and security codes stay the same so I can just use my lovely purple cards IRL!

I love Peanuts although Lucy is probably more like me than Snoopy (slightly more snarky!). I had a poster of her in her booth (psychiatric help 5 cents- the doctor is IN) on my door in residency. When I was out I'd put a post-it saying "out" on the "in" sign. One of the only amusing things about residency but at least it made me smile when I went to my office!

Without an extra deal both BJ's and Sam's are just below Target at a 4% discount. Only the $150 multipack at Sam's Club online gets close at 4.7% discount so when you add on any other rewards from a CC on top, it edges out Target. But then you factor in that it's a 3pk of $50's so there's extra time involved consolidating and using them. I guess technically if you have a 1.5% card (or better) even the 4% comes out to 5.4% off. Very much a shame that I don't see any warehouse categories yet this year. If you had a 5% category even the 4% discount would come out ahead then.

soooo...tell me if this is worth trying..... still working thru P2's MSR for CIP... but reeeeeellllyyyy want that WoH card before offer is gone (feb 1 via email link) aaaaannnnddd that Barclays AA offer is a dream come true. Think it's worth a shot for P2 (4/24) to app today for WoH,and then today or tomorrow for AA card? too soon? I'm thinking MDD,even tho different companies? I was gonna use that last chase slot (hopefully) for Hyatt...and then move on? wwyd?

Did you think food and stuff? The hotel was expensive but when you add in the EP it was less than a Disney deluxe easily. Tix are a little more but I’m upgrading to APs for very little. Never been so just curious we will be there Presidents weekend
Ack. Can someone give me a quick rundown of Uni tix and upgrade to AP deal? I seem to recall it being a good deal, and I'm wanting to head there to see what's new....if I can find a deal I can convince DH to do it
