I have no MSR I am working on. I feel kind of lost on where to go next. Dh ordered mulch that was delivered today. It was $250'ish. Asked me what card to use. I was like :confused3 Then, today I picked my dd16 up from school at 1 and everyone was hungry. Went through drive thru and since I PC'ed the CSR to a CFU, I was frantically googling my cards IN THE DRIVE THRU LINE to try to figure out what card to use. Used the Costco citi since it's 3% cb at restaurants. But overall, I was left feeling rather empty and sad. I think I am addicted to having a MSR.

I’ve been having the same feeling. I am waiting to get my denial from Barclay before moving on. I have just been grabbing a card out of my sock drawer when ordering something online just to have some spend spread out on these.
I think I need to call Barclay today and get an official answer so I can move on to something else.

I have a question for those who sail Royal Caribbean?
Do they only offer non refundable deposits now? I want to put a deposit on a June 2020 sailing but I am low on my seniority list and there is a chance I won’t get the week off. I don’t my vacation approved until the Nov. before.
If I wait until Nov. the prices will be way too high.

No, they still offer refundable deposits but there is an upcharge for it. When I was going through the pricing for our March 2020 cruise, it was towards the end where you select refundable and the price jumped from $4200 to $4400. I decided to wait and see what the prices look like Memorial Day weekend since I hear the offer better pricing then.

DH and I were going through the plans I made for FL next month and starts questioning everything and then says he wants to try different locations so it will help us to decide where to retire to in a few years when DS graduates. So maybe I'll search today for another beach locations that are not Clearwater. (I hate when he starts changes up all of the plans.)

Bank of America Alaska 40,000 Miles + $100 Statement Credit Offer: (Apparently a new best offer)
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/bank-of-america-alaska-40000-miles-100-statement-credit/

40,000 Miles + $100 statement credit after purchases of $2,000. Annual Fee of $75 not waived the first year. You also get some sort of companion fare that you pay $121 for to use (don't mind me...I just don't understand airlines other than Southwest!)

https://secure.bankofamerica.com/apply-credit-cards/public/consumer/#/welcome/

Anybody who understands anything about Alaska Air please chime in - also anybody who understands BoA too. I have banned BoA from my household after their previous shenanigans towards reputably churners such as myself...:lmao:

:badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc: I did not need to see this! Don't these *&$%#@! stupid banks know I am trying to get back under 5/24!!!! Looks like I'm gonna be doing some mathing this weekend to find out if Plane Princess and I may or may not be getting a second Alaska card each.

Spent $42 on a dozen cupcakes for SO and I. (Idk why I thought we needed a dozen for the two of us but this one particular cupcake place in DC makes the only kind of cupcakes I eat, they don’t have normal icing that I find gross, it’s peanut butter lol)

...Please tell me more about this cupcake place. It's not Georgetown Cupcakes is it? Don't tell me if it is cause I'll just be sad, I refuse to stand in line for cupcakes.

Bagels are just Donuts that never learned to Party. I'll just toss both and go find a cookie!

This take is so bad that I'm now going back through all of your advice and second guessing all of it.

Ok, I agree the pizza at local places here in VA are awful!! But have you ever had a local NY slice? I can’t even eat papa John’s.

If you venture into DC often, Wise Guy is great. There's a small second location in SE DC now. It's not a NY slice, nor is it cheap, but it's delicious. We, The Pizza is also very good, but different.

Okay so I roll out before 9:30 lol. My boys have to be at school at 8 in the morning so I'll be up at 7. But it feels like a whole other 'crew'...the 'early morning' crew comes in and takes over. Sometimes, well a lot of the times, I am awake during the night so I post at like 4am with a whole other set of people. It's just the east coasters getting going. Kind of fun! And then @Lain posts and everyone flips out lol as to why he's up. I don't think he sleeps much either :)

You mentioned me?

No it’s not. I was actually going to try them because I hear they have a peanut butter cupcake too. I went to Red Velvet. No line.

I have been to wise guys. It is ok pizza. I’d rather that than papa John’s. Super expensive though. I think it was like $3.50 a slice lol

It is indeed expensive, but it's probably the best we've got.

Red Velvet in Chinatown? How have I been by this place so many times and not noticed it? This is within walking distance too...

If you like desserts, highest recommendation to Dangerously Delicious Pies. Downside, you have to go to H Street.

I have never had Papa Johns or Little Caesar’s in my life. I’ve had Domino’s maybe once?

I frequent local places. Just had pizza tonight actually :) If I went for a mass chain, I would probably have to pick Pizza Hut. Although I haven’t had it in years.
I don’t really like little caesars. It’s not even in the same class as papa johns. Haven’t had dominoes in years. But I probably haven’t had papa johns in close to a year. We don’t get pizza all that much but if we do, lately, we just grab one from the Costco deli on our way out.

People in the morning gonna wake up and be like...how did you guys generate 6 more pages of discussion...and why is it all about Chicken Sandwiches and throwing away bagels??

It's like you read my mind!

I have never had bison or rattlesnake. I can’t imagine I would like it. It’s funny how where you grow up influences your taste buds. Tex-Mex though I could get behind.

If you like beef you could do bison. It's the same texture with a slightly different flavor. It's leaner so that changes it a little but the cuts we had were still very flavorful and tender without it. One of them was a bison rib we ate in the Denver area. Hubby still mentions it :) I'm waiting for some ribs to show up overnighted from somewhere one day, since we mostly only have ground bison as an option in stores here. (Hopefully it's during a MSR period cuz I don't want to think about that cost...)

OK this is not good.

I made a $5,000 Plastiq payment to a contractor on 5/8. The points are now showing as only 1X in my UR recent activity.

This exact same account is also showing a $50 payment made on 5/6 still at 3X.

Did I exceed some kind of limit with the $5,000 or did something just change overnight? Any DPs of Plastiq payments posting today 5/10???

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you but NYC will be mobbed. Secure the tickets ahead of time. I had great luck with the Chase portal and also Today’s Tix. It’s an app but they only release shows about 30 days ahead of time. I’m going to look into the $40 member one that’s super cool. But def for a supplemental ticket if it’s a bday present too!
Thanks for the advice and reminding me how busy it will be. I'm one of those people that needs to be mentally prepared for mobs:)

@havaneselover Since you are going at a really busy time, I would purchase any must see shows before arriving. We usually visit for Spring Break or during the Summer and purchase tickets for one must see show before arriving. We then go to the actual box office to purchase tickets for the other nights. We paid $35 to see Something Rotten (box seats). Waitress box seats cost about $80, but our youngest really wanted to see it. There are also cheap seats for Phantom, but there are in the last 2 rows in the theater and really high up. We have also won tickets through the lottery, but it would be tough on a busy weekend. We have only bought tickets from TKTS once and I wasn't impressed. Our tickets for Phantom were around $80 and we were under the overhang and couldn't see the chandelier drop. I know others that bought from TKTS and got great seats. Hope you have an awesome trip!! (We also have a havanese!)
Thanks:) I'm a planner and for this trip I need to have my ducks in a row. Attached a photo of my havanese (she's the big white one and she's with her cousin who belongs to my ex).

pizza and bagels are a must when you go. I look forward to you amending your statement that papa John’s is good lol
I grew up with good pizza in SW CT (and bagels-yum) but like papa john's. But we do have a few decent NY style pizza places in Richmond (including one downtown).
