Kids Fly Free with Frontier (for discount den members)
https://www.flyfrontier.com/kidsflyfree?mobile=true#TermsConditions

I’ve been reading through but haven’t seen any responses to this post. I’m wondering a few things about frontier and kids flying free.
1) do kids get to bring on their personal items?
2) will kids be able to sit with their parents for free or do you have to pay to sit with them?
3) if buying at the airport, do you still get discounted tickets with the den club?
4) how long will this last?

I’m super excited but also very skeptical...

Well - heading to bed shortly for our “last sleep” before WDW. I have been a little quiet the last few days on the thread...surprisingly I was very busy with work haha. I’m trying to hit my goal by March this year and just take the rest of the year off ;) :rotfl2: LOL!

I will try to keep up with the thread in the evening next week! Hope everybody has a great week! And for all of those heading to the world - hopefully the weather can be a little better than predicted. We packed a bunch of layers and are going to have a great trip regardless.

Also - say a prayer for my wife. Her flight anxiety is on full tilt today but she’s coming tomorrow. It’s so difficult to see somebody you love struggle like this. I hope we have a quick smooth flight for her sake.

Have a great trip..hopefully the weather warms up and prayers for your wife

That's sad. Thing is anyone that fly's private isn't taking pics like that unless they are uber new money. The race team I worked for went by the if you win don't act like it's the first time, act like you'll win again. It's the same thing, the people with money don't need to show off and know they'll do it again.

It is. I went back to look and one post he mentioned quitting college and blah blah. He just screams wanna be trust fund baby that doesn't have the money and doesn't actually understand how the trust fund kids would act. Not that some aren't obnoxious but those aren't the ones you should model yourself after if that's what you feel your role model should be (ugh to that).

Lol..use to have a similar saying when my kids played hockey...after scoring a goal....coach would tell them to “ act like you’ve been there before”.....

From the first part? Umm...shrimp? The truck? The 2nd part is so much better. Loved Jeremy's pants, the truck bridge and the hummingbirds! At 14k feet now so still more to watch.

Not the first part, but from the second. The hippos!!! I had no idea! Maybe I’m just naive haha. I thought that was the coolest thing. Those hummingbirds were amazing! DH and I thought at first it must be fake.

Loved Jeremy’s pants and the guy that walked up to him to shake his hand :rotfl2:

I honestly am so DONE with them tonight. I can look at it all tomorrow again, Basically, I keep entering my name, the card number, and the ccv and it tells me that it doesn't match the info they have. Yet, it does. Guessing if nothing works tomorrow, I will need to call. So annoying.

Just had this same thing happen to me earlier this week on DH’s new card. I called and it was a very quick call and they never questioned whether I was DH or not. Of course, I had a cold so I may have sounded like a man...

The race team I worked for went by the if you win don't act like it's the first time, act like you'll win again.

Such good advice.

I’m skeptical as well. Free won’t be completely free, but I’m guessing it’ll still be a savings for those with kids.

And these are #legitconcerns of any mother. I'd be the same. Dads are never as attentive to the children as we are. Sorry. My dh used to just take our kids to Home Depot and I'd practically go into full blown panic attacks at the idea that he would get lost in looking at the different hammers and someone would abduct the kids.

My DH has Mondays off (switching to Fridays for awhile starting this week) so he has watched our four year old every Monday by himself for the past almost 4 years. Heck they went to Epcot Festival of the Holidays this year on a Monday and I never even made it there haha.

Did anyone who did the Fidelity bank bonus last year get a 1099 for it yet? I got one form (I guess a 1099) for the interest, but it says I don't have to file that form with my taxes since it's only for the 56 cents interest I earned on the account, so it's de minimis. I thought I would get something for the $200 bonus though, and I haven't. Got 1099s for Ally interest and for Chase bank bonus.

Wow, got hubby to do an about face on opening a new card. I was picking his brain on what he wanted to do for the next card(s) so I have a goal to work towards. I discussed a few options and floated the CIP out there trying to convince him we could do 5k if we plan it right. Met with resistance, which I wasn't surprised, but got more surprised when I started getting resistance about opening ANY new card at all. I know he's tired of all the CC talk and he goes through phases where I know when to back off and when I can bring it up again, but he also knows how much the points and banking game has gotten us already. Literally we would not be able to do this Alaska trip in Sep without CC points, just not even feasible to pay cash for all that we wanted to do even if we wanted to now. So when he just recently brought up that he didn't think it was a good idea to open up another card because he's afraid we're spending money just to get the points, I was floored!

First, because I haven't done that! I can't speak totally for sure for him, but if he did it wasn't anything big that I'm aware of. I pointed out that the only thing I thought we bought that we didn't need to was the refrigerator. I could have bought a few more parts and had it repaired and it'd probably be fine for a few more years. But he's never liked that fridge and I think he used it as an excuse to pick up a new one (which he does like, thank goodness! spent just a little more than I planned on it but he likes it so that little extra was worth not hearing about it again :P). But it wasn't outrageous and we had the money to do it In the house maintenance fund, so we did. Second, because I thought knowing that most of this upcoming trip was paid for with points had really turned him! He was much more receptive to the whole game after I showed him some tangibles - like that First Class return flight I paid all of $120 OOP for. He was impressed with that and it was a load off knowing we didn't have to pay cash for that kind of flight. I mean, he opened 5 new cards in one year (and 3 of them were business cards) to make this happen! I really thought this was over since I've been planning this trip for him anyway. This was one of his bucket list destinations, and while I am excited to visit there too, it was really all put together as a "cold" vacation for him as he enjoys that more than sunny beach trips. Ugh.

However, I'm happy to say that logic won out :D I just got a text from him asking if I had decided on my next card yet. I said no, but asked why? He came back with "Just wondered. As you said it is money we are spending anyway. As much as I hate new cards, it sort of seems logical."

I'm ignoring the "sort of" part right now and declaring a victory... again... for just this battle... I don't think I've yet won the war.
Mine is the same way...still. After about 8 years of doing this, and getting cheap and free travel. (And I seem to be ramping up lol) we just got back from our major lifelist trip to Maui....and a fam member called, needed to use some air credits and wants to meet in FL next month for a few days.... of COURSE I'm in! why not? DH almost died of a conniption fit when I told him..... and dragged out all the ' we just got back/take vacation days???/ this is costing us WAY too much' routine..... and this is after I show all the numbers and cost of every trip, incuding vacation days calculated in there..... I think it's a knee jerk reaction to 'too much fun' in life being unhealthy....:rotfl: no real reason.... so again I went over the numbers(for the whole of 2019 plans!) and reassured him that yes indeed we'd be just fine doing what I've planned...... but I don't know that he'll ever truly get it.

like what william said, its most likely a miscount...

Someone on the Reddit DD thread gave it a go. Went pending initially then 7-10 days. Can’t recon it until Mon. I mentioned the experience reminded me of a 5/24 denial I’d seen so TBH I wouldn’t get too exited yet.

Yeah seems mixed, DS from the original DoC comments I linked chimed in that he was approved. So 24 positive, one 7-10 day, and one (40/24) still holding our breath. This is looking more interesting at the moment.

Edit: Up to 4 positives - last ones instant approved at 25/24 & 10/24.

I haven't gotten it from Fidelity yet. You don't need the form to do your taxes though, you can just enter the $200 as interest income without the bank ID number if you want.

Yeah, mine's interesting. I think it's a gut reaction to credit that he has to mentally overcome. If I give him the facts and present the logic he comes around eventually. I thought after the buying the return tickets it was for good since we had a tangible effect finally. Since it's so far away most other stuff is just up in the air still with a plan but haven't actually done the outlay, other than the hotel points, which at this point I think isn't anything special since we frequently don't pay cash for hotels. It's been 5 years since we bought a ticket outside of Southwest :) So getting those FAI > PHL tickets through AA was new and different and thus had an effect. Apparently it was fleeting :p

I do try to understand where he is coming from, he had to fight a little to get his good credit standing. So I understand his fear, however irrational at this point, and try to make allowances. But I just realized thinking about it I think it was a less than 24 turn around time this last time  Maybe I'll get to the same point one day where I can turn him around by the end of the conversation. :)

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something weird about Fidelity that I was missing and that maybe I wouldn't get a 1099 for some reason. Though I know the IRS isn't going to miss a chance to get another dollar out of me lol.

One of the comments I read somewhere said that if you got the bonus paid into your brokerage account rather than the checking account it wouldn't trigger the 1099. I don't remember the explanation, I just remembered thinking "well we'll see cuz I just sent the money to the checking account" :headache: I haven't been notified of any docs yet though, did you just go into your account to download it and it was there?

When I was deployed DD's father watched her for 6 months (when she was 3 and 4), took her to her 4th bday at WDW and managed to keep her alive. It's amazing what people can do when they have no alternative. Granted, this was 14 years ago and I left him a color coded binder with all the WDW information but I have no doubt SFF could do it!

All of my money is in the individual checking, savings, and spending account, not the account marked "investments." Yes, I just logged in to check since I was working on taxes this morning and saw the one form there, but it doesn't say I need to file that one. I'm not filing until March 1 anyways, so I'll just wait around and see what I get.

Ok so Fidelity is interesting. I just logged in to check it out and they didn't report it on mine either :confused3 It's listed as Misc Income in the YTD Tax summary page for that account but when I download the combined 1099 only the pennies of interest are listed in the 1099-INT section and the 1099-MISC is blank. I get that both amounts are under de minimis for the respective forms but why include the pennies of interest and not the bonus?

DVC members check out the section and threads on lawsuit etc. DVC has reversed its policy on the 2020 point allocations! A lot of people worked hard to make their voices heard about it and it is good Disney at least for now listened. :)

:scared1: Thank you for saying this. I read the DVC board here and Mouse Owners a lot but missed this because I gave up on the lawsuit thread. Amazing.
