The pool at the house we bought has a heater so I see us using it year round. We have two cats and I don’t think I’m gonna let them out into the lanai. They’ll scratch that screen up so fast
My cat climbs our porch screens. Well my grand-cat...she arrived home from college with DD19 this time last year and for some reason I am now stuck with her. She scales the screens to the top...10feet. I also can't use my window shades in my bedroom because she climbs those. Oh, and my plants seem to be her litter box. (I'm a tad bitter about this animal...)

Lol we were really hoping to get everything done this trip so we wouldn’t have to fly back down. We got so lucky with this house. Our realtor is FANTASTIC though. He has been so great. He was assigned to us by dh’s new company. He knew the lady living in this house because she’s also a realtor so it was really all thanks to him. He called her and she said we could go in her house that very same day. Then we went back one more time the next day, signed the papers this morning, and the owner of the house signed them about an hour later. The inspection on the house is already this Friday. The whole thing just went so smoothly.

Isn't the point of grandchildren (or grandcats) that you get to enjoy them for a time and then send them back to their parents? I assume grandkitty will go back to your dd once she's done at with her CP?

Well, I missed all the fun here tonight. I suggested a pool party and out came the party animals :woohoo: I love it!

Unfortunately, I cannot un-see @SouthFayetteFan's party suit or unitard...what the heck was that!?! So, please send eye bleach my way. And I was reading (and lol'ing) with dd16 looking over my shoulder so she definitely needs some too. Poor kid. Scarred for LIFE :scared1:

I’d love to know too. I was originally thinking we would try to sell our house this year but it needs paint and some lawn care and by the time we have it ready it would be June. But I’m always looking at houses, I see every new house in town added to MLS so I could be trying to buy with no notice if I see the perfect house.

This area is a very high selling area but the house we bought wasn’t even listed. Six houses went to contingent or sold after that one day of looking. I guarantee if it was listed we wouldn’t have gotten it because our price was so low. They literally asked what the top of our budget was and that’s what we paid. Their house is easily worth more than that but it saved them the hassle of listing it and dealing with all of that. We got extremely lucky and I honestly think everything in life is either “meant to be or not”. This apparently was. I’m very grateful for the people selling it because I feel like they gave us a great deal and they’re leaving tons of furniture along with all of the appliances.

Congrats @Haley R ! What an awesome serendipitous event!

Seconding this request! We just (as in, literally five minutes ago) sent off all our documents for a pre-approval and I am already sweating at the thought of having to explain all those inquiries and bank bonuses to a lender. Please report back! Y'all are first-time homebuyers, right?

For those who do Priceline deals, is there a thread here that helps discern which are Disney resorts ? I’m thinking of a quick weekend trip in September but wanna keep it cheap.

Wow, Chase is intent on making the CIP completely useless except for its SUB. A year ago, the CIP was my favorite card, got almost all of my spend, and no way would I ever think about closing it. Today, I was just musing about closing one and PCing another. One of these days, I'll have to make a list of all the nice things that used to earn 3x on the CIP but don't anymore.
I renewed the card because I was getting bonus on several work related categories. Since renewing I think they've all gone away. I was truly using this as a biz card. At least now we can get multiples so there's that, for now at least.

this may have been answered already, but I have easily moved a credit to another card via SM

I did but always good to get more dp's :) I got about 440 back and with stops at Lowes tomorrow and Rite Aid and Staples Thurs or Fri along with the stop I made today I'll have gotten 250 at 10% though the lowes is only up to 12 bucks but I'll buy 125 so it'll be a total of 255 with 25 back. Then I'll have to wait for new offers but the trip isn't until August. I'll have another 210 to do after adding back in the 25. Just wish I had more than the Rite Aid on my CSP or I'd be about done.

This is why I like dogs. I don't like litter boxes and I won't have an outdoor cat unless I needed an outdoor mouser for some reason. I don't know how you do it with the cat in the plants.

Try sprinkling some cayenne pepper in the plants. Start with a light sprinkling. I've never done it with houseplants, only outside flowerbeds. It works!

That's pretty much how we ended up with our two cats, although fortunately they are both very well-behaved. I'm thinking there should be ways to address the plant issue, like putting some decorative rocks on top of the soil or using a scent that cats don't like, like citrus. Don't have any ideas about the screens, except maybe a cat tree she could climb instead.

They're supposed to go back, but doesn't always work that way. My first grandkitty adopted me when DD went off to college. He's now all mine. The second grandkitty will be leaving with her when she moves out in a few months. There is no way that one is staying. She's a handful. Our other cats don't really like her much. Sadly she's becoming attached to me right now. Ugh.

I guess now that I think about it, my mom had my cat all during my college years. I lived in the dorms all years so I couldn't take her but she'd been my cat since I was 10yo. I think if my college-aged, adult child brought a pet home from college, I'd expect it to go back to college when the adult kiddo went back. Is that not the way it works?

does anyone in your family sleep on the sofa bed? My DS9 is adamant he isn't sleeping on there. Maybe I could order a mattress topper or something.

My son 31 year has slept on it many times over the years and has not complained....but it probably wouldn’t hurt to get a mattress topper for him

I continue to be fascinated by the way credit works. Late last night Citi finally approved my next AA after receiving income verification (despite that being my 8th Citi card overall with never a request before). And it was approved for a $22k credit line. I would think, if Citi felt the need to stop and verify income, that would mean I was almost maxed out with them. Guess not?

All of this is very interesting.
