Thank you. Yep, she has Lyme but it all began with Epstein-Barr and that turned chronic and that’s what’s going on right now. It’s like part mono but then a bunch of other symptoms that baffle the docs!

I’m excited for the August plan too! I guess on the deluxe dining, there is no distinction between TS or QS and adult or child. Kind of a loophole it seems.
It’s the worst when the doctors don’t know! There’s some sense of control when you know how to treat something.
Good to know about the DxDP. But I’m guessing with one room everyone would have to be on it, right?

I had forgotten that I app’d for that arrival+ and suddenly remembered. Ha! Checked the status and happy to see approval! Whoop!
So weird they haven’t emailed me at all...not even that I applied.
You forgot you app’d for a card? Are you part of this group? You didn’t obsessively check the link every 20 min? Might earn you a spot in shun corner
Barclay is Bar-cray they make no sense!

For those of you who've been around for awhile, you may remember my dd18 has a chronic illness. She is sick again and it's a bad flare. I've spent the day on the phone with doctors trying to get meds called in and then running around to get meds (spending a small fortune...). Appreciate any prayers or thoughts for us both. She's in pain and I'm worn out.
Hope your DD is feeling better very soon.

We are back from NYC - I will try to do hotel reviews on the other thread when I have a minute. The short version is that The Lexington (Marriott Autograph Collection) is perfectly fine, and was reasonably priced. The Chatwal (Marriott Luxury Collection) is absolutely phenomenal, but pretty pricey. Worth the splurge this trip, but now I never want to stay anywhere else in NYC and it is hard to justify spending that many points (of any flavor) on a hotel room.

We were moderately spendy on the trip, but my dental work came in cheaper than expected, so I've still got some work to doon the MSR for my CIP. Have a plan to get there, though - spent yesterday evening at the emergency room with DH.

He's fine. He took a header on his bike yesterday afternoon (not moving fast, he was wearing a helmet). Banged up his face, shoulder and hand, and was feeling kinda dazed. All seemed ok, but a few hours later he had a kind of small seizure and passed out on the couch (scary - eyes rolled up, uncontrolled movements, not responsive for a couple of minutes). I had just called 911 when he came back to himself. I decided not have an ambulance come, but took him over to the emergency room right away. They checked him out - just a concussion, and he hasn't lost consciousness again. He's home today, pretty sore and his head hurts some, but he isn't nauseated anymore.

Also, my dental work was pretty painful, so they kept asking him if he needed anything for the pain, and he was saying "no, I'm fine" while I was sitting there going "noooooo, get some serious drugs and slip them to me!" We didn't get home until well after midnight, so I'm tired and my mouth still hurts like the dickens.

We have a high deductible insurance plan (with an HSA we can use to reimburse ourselves) so I'm figuring that last night was probably good for a good chunk of a MSR... always looking for the silver lining.
That is so scary! Glad things seem to be better now.

Well it’s official. Unless something odd comes up in the inspection, we officially OWN A HOUSE IN FLORIDA!!!!!
Congratulations!!! I do not understand at all how you managed to get this done so quickly. The former homebuying me is very jealous  That has to be the record for fastest turnaround I have ever heard of!

Catching up on some reading, and DoC shared an interesting story in this morning's recap.

A new story from Skift expands on last week's reporting that United is playing hardball in contract negotiations with Chase: United-Chase Rift Creates Opportunities for Other Credit Card Partnerships. United wants more money – a lot more money, like the kind of deal that Delta recently struck with Amex, but United isn't budging. Skift thinks that may cause United to look to other banks like American has done by offering cards from both Barclays and Citi. This could be good news for folks who fly United but are locked out of Chase.

But perhaps more interestingly, the Skift article doesn't report this, but DoC notes in his recap that Chase is unhappy about the perceived devaluation of United MileagePlus with its move away from award charts and towards dynamic pricing. Not to mention British Airways Avios' devaluation of redemptions for partner awards. This reminded me of a post on r/churning last week that claimed the Chase executive office said "We are working round the clock since the United announcement to get a new Star Alliance Partner." TIFWIW. A new transfer partner(s) would be welcome news.

C'mon in - the water's FINE!!!!
So you're the guy we used to watch harass tourists, play "drums" on an overturned bucket & kick things around Union Square. Truly a small world. I always wondered how you could afford a seemingly never-ending assortment of colorful & eclectic leotards & now I know the answer - CC points. Guess you left the city for a more pool-friendly area. Lucky @Haley R!

I :lovestrucmy pool from Apr-Oct so hope you get lots of quality time with yours. We even have big floats for the dogs- the family that suns together stays together or something paw:
The pool at the house we bought has a heater so I see us using it year round. We have two cats and I don’t think I’m gonna let them out into the lanai. They’ll scratch that screen up so fast

Yeah the people living there do a great job of keeping everything looking nice. They do have a pool cleaning system so that helps a ton.

This thread has been a mess tonight thanks to @SouthFayetteFan lol
This thread has been GREAT tonight thanks to @SouthFayetteFan

Fixed that for you ;) :cool1: :rotfl2:

OMG guys. There are just some things I wish I could un-see. And that post is one of them. :rotfl:

Good to know. I did see a few when we were looking for hotels in Norway, but I wasn't sure about them. Picky hotel princess over here.

WOW!!! Congratulations!!! :banana::cheer2::banana:

One day? It takes people more than a year over here. Multiple bids on homes most of the time, and those I know who are looking sometimes lose out 5-10 times. I'm glad you had success so quickly!
This area is a very high selling area but the house we bought wasn’t even listed. Six houses went to contingent or sold after that one day of looking. I guarantee if it was listed we wouldn’t have gotten it because our price was so low. They literally asked what the top of our budget was and that’s what we paid. Their house is easily worth more than that but it saved them the hassle of listing it and dealing with all of that. We got extremely lucky and I honestly think everything in life is either “meant to be or not”. This apparently was. I’m very grateful for the people selling it because I feel like they gave us a great deal and they’re leaving tons of furniture along with all of the appliances.
