I love AKL

I'm just posting to say that I learned to love the villas at AKL more than ever last trip. We had what is easily the most disastrous trip we've ever been on. My father got seriously ill while we were there and spent a week and a half in Florida Hospital while I struggled to deal with my mother's Alzheimer's and son's autism, trying to figure out how I would get everyone home if my father couldn't travel by the time I needed to get back, etc. We ended up having to stay for an additional week (out of pocket for five of those days since I was almost out of points). In short it was a very stressful time. I cannot tell you how much easier it made things to come back 'home' to Kidani, to be able to sit and relax with the animals, in the pool, talking to the cultural representatives, and just generally feel like we had been transported away from our problems just for a little bit. Not to mention having the space, laundry facilities and kitchen which helped tremendously since we were away much longer than we had planned to be.

Anyway, just sayin'....this was a trip that might have spoiled a place for me if it had been anywhere less special.

So sorry that your Dad took ill while you were at the World. And it sounds like you had your hands full. I'm happy that it all ended well and that your vacation wasn't totally rotten...

I'm very sorry to hear about your stressful trip and hope that your father is much better. We know exactly what you mean about Kidani, we love the quiet, restful atmosphere and the very friendly and helpful CMs there. It's really a jewel.
