A few weeks back, I posted here for advice on finding fruits and veggies at Disneyworld. (Useful tips -- thanks!) I was going to Disneyworld for 12 days, and I didn't want to stray from my diet.

Well, I'm back now, and I lost weight while at Disneyworld! I let myself eat more than I usually do (2000 calories instead of 1400), because I was getting so much exercise. (In addition to lots of walking and swimming, I also lifted weights twice.) I was very careful about the *types* of food I ate, letting myself have just a small treat (half of a serving of sugar-free cheesecake, say) each day. I brought in some diet snacks (soybeans, protein bars) to the parks, and mostly bought salads and fruit in the parks.

I was gone for 12 days, and came back 5 pounds lighter than when I went! I think I've just invented a new diet -- the Disneyworld Diet! What a great excuse to go to Disneyworld!

Thank you sooo much for letting me know its possible
This Aug will be our first ever two week vacation
Im planning on lots of fruits/salads but also planning on indulging during the 2nd wk - Hey! we're staying 1st time at a Boardwalk resort!
I try to keep myself at 2100 calories/day to maintain

i hope to lose weight too! I went through every menu on allears.net and wrote down all the TS and CS that had food I could eat (I am on atkins AND I keep kosher LOL - so basically I was looking for yummy salads for lunch and fish for dinner) and I have planned where we will eat accordingly. For the TS I made PS but for the CS I will just not stress and know that if the family wants to grab something at X I can go to Y since it is close by.... DH is very supportive so I know he will help make sure I get a good lunch ;)

Thanks for your info.
I am leaving next Tuesday, and I have already decided that I need to make sure I hit the low carb market before I leave. I really have become so used to eating the gluten bread that I do not like other breads. I will also make sure I have my low carb muffins to take with me. I love to have those for breakfast or snack with my tea.
I am jsut worrying about exercising. IO have been skimping off this month because I have been making sure my house in tip top condition before I leave for vacation. It is good to see that you were able to get enough exercise in by just walking around Disney. I think I am going to take my Cathy Smith tape with me though. I am addicted to it, and I will not feel right not working out. I will be gone for two weeks as well - so

I am so happy you were able to lose that weight!! Keep on with the good work, and I am glad that you were able to maintain control over your eating habits.

Congratulations Judy. Isn't it so good to know that you can go to Disney, eat and have fun while at Disney. Last summer and this christmas, I've came home 5 pounds lighter each time. I was low-carbing also! Now I'm on the way to Disneyland, so we'll see if the same thing happens (must be all that walking)!
