I Live 55 Miles From DisneyWorld & Want to Ride Bus/Shuttle, not Drive

My car's fine for getting around in town, but it would never survive frequent trips to the theme parks, and whereas I intend to get a season pass, I would be going as often as once a week. I live in Brevard county, not far from where the Disney cruises launch. Are there busses or shuttles I can take to the parks, instead of driving myself? Where do they depart from? Are there any options for my season pass that will give me discounts on bus/shuttle fare, or cover it completely? Or - am I just stuck?

Thank you!

Not sure, but maybe the town car services might help? Mears is one. I have no experience, I just figured they tootle all around central Florida.

There really aren't any shuttles coming in from that area. There is the DCL bus but that's $60 or so per person, and I'm not even sure you could take it if your weren't heading to or from a cruise.
Towncars can pick you up but they are expensive. I think you should look into putting some money into your car and making it 'WDW worthy'!!:thumbsup2

There's a bus line called "LYNX" around here, it looks like they've a station about 30 miles from where I am. I think I could manage that! I'll look into it, but in the meantime if anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to post them.

Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to read/post!

Call me crazy but... instead of driving 60 miles once a week to be bused another 60 miles (with who knows how many transfers) and then have to use Disney transportation to get to your park of choice, why not use your own car the entire trip and go only every second or third week?

Well, I say my car can't make the trip once a week - but I doubt it could make it once period. It's got overheating issues that haven't been resolved by about $1000 worth of repair attempts. I agree though, my car is the real fly in the ointment here.

Perhaps I might suggest this...

Instead of spending money on trying to get to Disney... the money might be better spent on trying to find a new/pre-owned car that might be a bit more reliable. I know it would probably restrict going to Disney, but in the long run it's your best option by far.

Besides, taking Lynx into Disney from Brevard will take you several HOURS. Other options are WAY too expensive.

Are you talking about a day trip? If so, how about renting a car for the day?
