DH gave me my birthday present tonight, and it's the Thomas Kinkade of the WDW castle! I'm sure it has a name, a new day or something, but I don't care! It's so cool! I didn't even realize Tinkerbell was in it.

It's so funny because I *just* listened to the podcast from when Kevin went to the Thomas Kinkade event.

Anyway...nobody in my real life will be at all excited by this, so hopefully somebody on here will understand! I just want to look at it!

I love Thomas Kincaid. I am so happy for you.

I'd be happy to get that. I like it because it's the castle, can't say I am a fan of Thomas Kinkaide though. My SIL has an actual painting, not a print, of his and it beautiful, but not my style. The castle one I would take though! So I'm happy for you too! :)

On a side note, I met Thomas Kinkaide once at a mall where they were opening a whole store of his stuff, let me just say, he likes himself ALOT. :rotfl:

Congratulations on getting that beautiful print.
I was lucky to win the same print in a beautiful frame at an event during last years Magic Meets. I then went to a Thomas Kinkade signing event and had it signed. I didn't think he was too friendly either.
I wish I could afford the other pictures in the series.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited. I told DH I wanted this small copy of it off ebay (somewhere around 8x10) and emailed him the link like 3 times. So tonight, he gives me that. I was so excited! Then, he takes me downstairs to get something I had seen in the car when he pulled in (he had the top down and I saw something sqaure covered in a blanket-it wouldn't fit in the car otherwise). It was the real thing!

I'm definitely not a Thomas Kinkade fan overall. His stuff is fine, but mostly not my style. That podcast (I think it was from late '07) with Kevin at the special definitely didn't improve my opinion. But...I'm still shocked and happy tonight!

pal-mickey: Cool to have it signed!

I think this is one of the canvas print that has been hand-accented, or whatever it is. My smaller one is a paper print.

Congratulations! Hijack alert!

How weird--I literally just listened to that podcast this morning. I just got into the podcasts about 3 months ago (that's when I got my beloved Ipod). I listen when I run in the mornings and when I run out of new material (no pun intended), I listen to some of the older ones. How funny that we'd both listen to it, huh? Congrats again!

thunderbird1-That is crazy! Great minds download the podcast alike, I guess!

*NikkiBell*-There's a pin? I'm totally looking into that! We're into pins! I just got a cool bowling pin set. I'd love to have the one to match my painting.

My wife and I also have several pieces of his . Our Disney Kincade is the picture he made for the 50th Anniversary in Disneyland.

By the way, if you happen to see a family in the picture it is probably his, as he likes to incorporate his family in the Disney art.

Here is the pin. Very limited edition, 300 or 500. It sells for around $100 on ebay.

Congratulations on your new piece of art.....I got one for my birthday as well.

I got the Snow White RE edition, highlighted by a master highlighter & SIGNED by Thom himself for my birthday - its #10 out only 40. Its so awesome and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. DH went through a lot to get this painting and apparently its the last one of this size. We have since ordered the new Peter Pan one and are looking to get the Pinnochio one as well at some point.

I am not a big Thom fan either but I love the Disney editions he has done, they are so beautiful. My mother in law has qhuite a few nice pieces of his but they just don't compare to my Snow White.

Congrats and Enjoy!!

Wow ... That's a great gift! I also thought about getting one of those, but they're pricey and I'm already collecting the Olszewski WDW Main Street USA pieces. Gotta pick your demons!

I am excited for you! What a sweet Hubby.

Enjoy your beautiful Picture!!

Art is very subjective.

What I (or anyone else) thinks is totally irrelevant.

The fact that you love it is all that matters.

If the artwork "speaks to you"...then it's done it's job.:thumbsup2

Congrats and Happy Birthday.

Now to figure out how to hang it...we don't own anything this big! I think it's going over the fireplace.

I'm not too terribly into art-I'm a photo girl. My current largest piece of art is a photo I took at chimney rock park in NC and blew up with the American flag waving.

Anyway...tangent.

Kevin-I'm such a nerd because I'm thrilled you posted on my thread! Thanks for the entertainment every week!
