I know you are not allowed to use pools at a resort other than the one you're staying

I would think not. You would be using a chair meant for a guest of that particular resort. Same sun can be found at both resorts.

That is actually one of the big problems with pool hopping-it further reduces the limited number of lounge chairs for those paying to stay at the resort.

As others have mentioned you are still taking a seat away from a guest. I suggest asking at the resort you are going to if it is allowed.
