I know this is kind of a no-no but...

:wizard:

So much to do, it's hard to decide after nearly 22 trips where to dash off to
FIRST...we go to DD and Celebration and driving around.

I am so excited!

2 weeks for 2 weeks!
Although it's Monday it's one day closer to my trip!!!
yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

wherever your first* destination is, HAVE ALOT OF FUN!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Yes, Runmom, I'm packing shorts and pants, but I like the idea of the pants/shorts combo. I always carry around a big backpack throughout the parks.

We were there in December once. One day we'd wear shorts, and the next sweaters and jackets. Stinks for packing, but what can you do????

I plan on being at MGM on Sunday as well runmom. We're dining at Mama Melrose before Fantasmic. Maybe we'll see you around the parks--look for a lazy and tired 7 year old boy; a whining complaining 5 year old girl; an 11 year old boy sickened by the aforementioned siblings slowing him down; a tired looking husband, and a mom (me!) happily skipping along ignoring them all!!!! :rotfl2:

OK, they're not that bad, but like all kids (and husbands), they have their moments!!!!

We always do something the day we arrive. now we do have AP's so hitting a park (or two) that first day dosen't take days off a 5 or 6 day pass. If we didn't have the APs and just had a limited number of days on our passes, we would still do some fun stuff at the resorts or DTD. For us, vacation starts the minute we lock the front door of the house on our way out of it. make the most of every minute while on Vaca. our family moto "we can relax/sleep when were dead! vactations are for doing stuff!"

a tradition in our fam (and you might want to try too) we like to do the Hoop Dee Do on our first night. gets us all in a Disney Mood.

Hi Lcborn2run, we'll look for you at Fantasmic, I'll be with my DH & my 2 boys 7 & 4 - we'll be the one's throwing the football around to keep busy while waiting in line (my husband already packed it for something to do!). I didn't do the dinning package - we are eating at Sci Fi at 5p hope it gives us enough time to get to Fantasmic - but we really wanted to try Sci Fi.

I'm getting so excited! I looked at the long range forecast - I know they really can't predict, but looks like maybe a bit of rain on Sat...? But nice after that :sunny:

Trying for Whispering Canyon for our arrival night, if not I got in on our last night and we'll do Downtown Disney - I heard that would be fun for our first night, the kids will like that and that should be sort of relaxing...

Can someone tell me where I need to be to avoid getting trapped by the afternoon parade? I was thinking that that would be a good time to try to ride the more popular rides :thumbsup2

Stay away from Splash and Big Thunder...over in that area you get trapped and can't leave until after the parade route opens back up. Personally I like to be in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland...plenty to do and the lines tend to thin out a bit. :)

Have a blast...

Another option you may not have thought of perhaps a water park for the afternoon? You could easily get in 4-5 hours and it's a great way to get into vacation mode.

Thank you, I had heard you get trapped there, we were thinking Fantasyland during the parade - I'm actually thinking of skipping the parade (..?) we'll get more done I hope while everyone is watching. We are planning on staying for Wishes and Spectro tho. Sitting here w/my books and maps right now, trying to map it all out!!
