I Know Memorial Day Weekend is Busy - Does That Go For The Whole Week?

i've heard many times to avoid Memorial Day weekend. does anyone know if the crowds remain high even after the long weekend ends?

i'm working with a 3 month period during which i can plan our 2 week trip, and think that mid to late may might be our best bet for slightly lower crowds within that period that we can go.

does anyone know what that tues-friday immediately following Memorial Day is like??

We were there this last year Mon. thru Thurs. Monday and Tuesday were busy and Weds. was a little quieter. We went Thurs. morning and it was nice. It was busier than I expected, but wait times were still okay. We saw wait times of about 30-40 minutes on the major slow loaders. I can't remember if all of the shows and stuff were running, they were on Mem. Day, but I can't remember about the rest of the week.

thanks a lot for the response! when you say "busy", was it intolerably busy....like no room to walk, people stepping on you, busy?

See I was there too, Mem. Day was my bday so we were there from Sat-Tues, I thought Mon & Tues were very doable and not busy.....parks weren't over crowded, wait times were about 30-45 min. not crowded IMO.

that would not feel un-doable to me, either. especially when we use FP, and do rides like PP and Dumbo first thing in the morning.

thanks! i think we would avoid monday anyway, but as long as tues-fri are decent, we'd be thrilled.

DS's b'day has been during that time the last two years (not in '10 though, the holiday is too late!), and we've gone starting on Monday. In '08 I heard the crowds over the weekend were nasty, but Sunday was a blockout day so we didn't get in to see them, and Monday through the end of our trip was just fine.

This year it was a bit more crowded after the holiday, but not much to write home about. Columbus Day weekend, however, horribly crowded! (that was my b'day weekend) But after the weekend, crowds slowly died down as everyone's extra long long weekends ended.

thanks bumbershoot! i'm trying to make a decision between the last 2 weeks of May (MIL will be with us the first 3 days in the parks, in-laws are going home to AZ after that), and sometime in summer during the SoCal AP blockout period. (i'm not hating, i just am trying to make this trip as non-stressful as possible - it will almost certainly be my MIL's last trip to Disneyland and she hasn't been there in 25 years and she is SO excited to go!)
