I know it's a year away, but I'm getting nervous about booking a GV at OKW!

I thought I'd ask for expert advice.

For the last week of September 2005 I want to booka GV and a 2 bedroom at OKW for a big family reunion. I own at VWL, so it has to be at the 7 month window.

What's the best way to try to book the GV? Should I call day by day? And I just ask every day for them to link the ressies, or am I just changing the same ressie?

Is anyone trying to book something like this now? What is or has been your experience?

Any and all tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I just booked the GV at OKW for January 2005 and called day by day. The first day, I told MS what I wanted to do and they put a note on the ressie for the dates that I wanted. I called every morning to "add on" and at the end, they sent me the confirmation, which I'm still waiting for. It was really easy for me. For your reservation, 7 months out, I would say call day by day, and if you have to, get on the wait list for days that might not be available right away. For September, you should have some good luck. Good luck!

If it were me, I'd try and have an OKW owner book that at 11 months, and then transfer points over to them. September not all that busy, so it may be possible, but I would think a GV at 7 months would be a real long shot any time of the year. Not impossible, but a long shot.

I am not sure you need to worry about that for the end of September. I would call MS now and see what the availability is now. If it is tight, that will tell you how to proceed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I called MS and Todd was NOT happy with me doing a little "research" He very abruptly told me "This means NOTHING for next year" I told him I knew that but just wanted to satisfy my own curiousity- I tried to get him to laugh, but it wasn't happening.

Anyway, there is availability for a GV for 9/18-9/20 of this year, so I'll just book day by day next year and waitlist if I have to.

Has anybody NOT had the waitlist come through for a GV?

I agree with Diane, I would ask MS to check availability before you start making the reservation. You don't want to start the day by day and find out you have days missing in the middle.

I wouldn't worry too much. We are OKW owners and have booked the Grand Villas at least 2 times within a 4 - 6 month window. It is a wonderful place to stay. Good luck!
