Please be extra wary about scams! Apps can be downloaded from Google Play Store that mimic online banking apps. A buyer turns up at your door, looks at your goods, everything fine so far, then asks if he can pay you via bank transfer. It all looks legit but don't be fooled! Even if he hammers in your details and the legit bank paraphernalia pops up, complete with animated circle and tick, don't be fooled! And be DOUBLY wary if he says to you that it could take a few hours to go through! You can rest assured that the money will never appear and he will leave with you goods in hand just to block you. So far Facebook and Google haven't taken any real steps to curtail the gyp, so please, only ever accept cash!

If I was selling something, the buyer wouldn't get the item until I had the cash.
*I* get to determine what I accept. Maybe it's CC (I had a scanner for my cell phone a long time ago to take CC payments), maybe it's Venmo, maybe it's Paypal. But they're not getting the item until *I* see, on *MY* account the activity go through.

"It will be a couple of hours"? OK, go run some errands and come back in a couple of hours after it's processed? You don't have that kind of time? I guess we're not doing business then.

Oh, I don't allow for bank transfers or even PayPal. It can all be faked. Cash only for me, unless the transaction goes through eBay or Amazon, in general. I raise the warning as Watchdog did - people are getting taken in needlessly. Call it a public service announcement.
