....I have friends that want to plan a Universal Trip when it is open (child is a HP fanatic!). I am sure this has been answered, but I don't have time to read through that entire thread. Do they have a planned opening date, and are they generally pretty good about sticking to it? If not, when would be the soonest someone could plan a trip that they can be positive it will be open? Thanks!

About the only firm date I've seen is June 30, 2010...that's the date WWoHP must be open by...according to the contract. It's anyone's guess right now as to the true and actual date.

I would plan for fall 2010, for two reasons. The entire area should be open and September is a slower month.

You may want to let them know that they can buy tickets to US/IOA right now and save them for when they go. Rumor is that ticket prices will go up when HP opens.

I agree. We are getting our tickets from AAA this month for our October trip in 2010!

According to their official website (http://www.universalorlandoresort.com/harrypotter/index.html?__source=email.hp.flous.9152009), HP will be opening in Spring of 2010. Still no official date. I agree, Fall of 2010 would be best. We're also going in October of 2010. This is one of our planned stops.
