I Knew There Was A Reason Why I've Always Hated My Birthday - COMPLETE

YAYYY UPDATE!!!!
This is taking me SO long to comment on because Friends keeps distracting me. I feel like you would be a fan of Friends. :p SUCH a good show.

Okay Comments:
Hahaha I am jealous of your ability to rock and roll at the same time. I don't think I can do that. :rotfl:
However, I do understand the losing at sports thing. And the freezing winter thing. And the 10 feet of snow thing. And the no sunshine thing. We live in such beautiful places, really.
Drinking tea is like the epitome of classiness.
HAHAHAHA Disney Mania!! ALADDIN. That's a little scandalous. But I would do it. :lmao:
I CAN'T GET BANNED FROM DISNEY!! I WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE FORRR.
i need to get a hobby.
.....nahh. :rotfl:
That mug is fantastic. And so is Princess Diaries. SUCH A GOOD MOVIE.
I love beatles music. AHH i need to listen to them soon it's been so long.
I'm putting pajama pants from Canada on my souvenir list. That sounds fantastic. And like something i would LOVE. Pajama of the month club... ummm BEST IDEA EVER.
OH MY GOD A LINE AT THE MAELSTROM?!!?!?! The world as I knew it is no more. :scared1: I would have had the same reaction as you.

SIDENOTE: DISNEY COMMERICIAL IS ON NICK @ NITE RIGHT NOW!!
......
okay it's over.

A strawberry slush!? Mmmm that sounds delicious! :cloud9:
Duffy is ADORABLE. I want one for my own. :goodvibes
What's your first favorite area loop?
If IllumiNations ever goes away... holy crap I will probably be joining you while you wallow in sorrow.
Wow FABULOUS pictures!! Good job, Dad!
I can't wait for the next update! But I don't want to get to the sad part so I'm kind of scared. But it's okay. I still want to hear about it.
Thanks for updating!
And about an hour later... I am finally done reading! Oh Friends. So distracting. Two great entertainment opportunities at the same time... what a night.
Okay I'm done. Good nightttttt! :goodvibes

I mean, doesn’t a Pajama of the Month club sound like an excellent idea?

YES YES YES! I am so with you on that one!! I have such an awkward amount of love for pajamas!

Oh Maelstrom... why? I mean it's quite a cute little enjoyable journey but not 45 mins worth. Your double rainbow reaction was exactly how one should react to that.

Ahhh illuminations  I feel the same way, there would be much weeping if it was to leave us.
Good work to your father, getting those money shots again:thumbsup2

Never apologise for nonsensicality :goodvibes

I havent been to the boards in a few months because I havent been feeling very "Disney" lately but just letting you know I am back, still reading. Your entries are just as entertaining as ever! :)

Great update Kara! You know how I feel about World Showcase! When we were there for the 4th in 2010 and we found our spots at, like, 6! Totally didn't plan on it but found a bench down by the water in the UK and since we'd been up since 9am, we though, what the heck! It was perfect!

As for Once Upon a Time, I want to love....I really do. But, as a writer, don't you think some (most) of the dialogue is just awful?! Laughable at times, really. I think the story is so awesome and I especially loved this weeks episode. I'm also worried that they are banging out one fairytale per episode and pretty soon, there's going to be none left, know what I mean?

That’s the line for the Maelstrom.

It’s out of the building.

After I picked my jaw up off the Crocs of a passerby, I had to look up to make sure pigs weren’t flying. I felt a lot like that guy in the Double Rainbow video. I stood there in the middle of the sidewalk yelling “OH MY GOD WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?” for a good 10 minutes.

I took a picture of the wait time because I knew I’d need proof when I returned to my family.
349.jpg

40 MINUTES! Why would anyone wait that long? Do they realize that I could’ve said “You are not the first to pass this vay, nor shall you be the last” in a vaguely ominous Norwegian accent and saved them an hour of their lives?

As I was standing there, the wait time went up to 45 minutes. I knew I had to remove myself from the situation before my head exploded and little brain bits landed in someone’s school bread, so I headed back to my parents, shaking my head the entire way.

45 minutes. 45 minutes. 45 minutes.

I'm subbing! For some reason I'd thought you'd finished (probably because I would read new updates when they came up on the first page and always forgot to sub, haha) and am glad to see that you weren't!

Can't lie, I would consider waiting in a decent size line for Maelstrom. I just think it's a really cute ride and I like Norway and its trolls. Especially if it was the only chance I had to ride it! For some reason, it's a must do for me. :rotfl:

This wasn't to me, but it's pretty impossible to run out of fairy or folk tales! Especially if the writers do the right thing and move away from western European stories. How AMAZING would it be to see traditional stories from other countries?? Especially something like Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters or traditional Chinese folk tales or Scandinavian or even North American cultures that don't typically get as much attention (like Native American!). I don't think that's going to happen though (I bet the costumes would be gorgeous), sadly.

Hey there! So I had been lurking a little... but I caught up with your TR recently and was waiting for you to write another update so I could comment! SO YAY.

First of all, I LOVE your trip report! It is so funny. I swear you've had me cracking up all over the place.
OH, and I NEED to thank you because you re-introduced me to the musical stylings of Mr. Aaron Carter. I knew there was something missing in my life lately... it turns out that that something, was Aaron's Party. (COME GET IT!)

Also... I am completely dreading the post where you find out about your dog. I have a feeling I'm gonna be sobbing. Just so sad.

Anyway, this update was hilarious and I'm glad I read it because I've been needing to listen to the IllumiNations soundtrack! It's the best. I agree, if it ever goes away... let's move on before I get depressed.

Can't wait for more! Yay for birthdays!

P.S. YES! I LOVE Once Upon A Time! I'm so glad it exists. It's really, really good. I love trying to figure out who each person in Storybrooke is supposed to be. Too bad there's NO EPISODE NEXT WEEK. :(

YAYYY UPDATE!!!!

Jess! Listen so I promise I'm not STALKING you or anything... but I had to be creepy and comment on what you said. Not that you'll even see it?! Haha... anyways... you mentioned FRIENDS. And when someone mentions FRIENDS... I HAVE TO BUTT IN. It is my favorite show of all time. Yes... it has taken the place of Full House. (That's slightly depressing but true.) It's the funniest show ever. I have all 10 seasons on DVD. I watch it every night when I go to bed. I quote it repeatedly. HAHA so yeah, there ya go! BUT WAIT. You said it was on Nick at Night?! That is throwing me off in a major way. SINCE WHEN IS IT ON NICK AT NIGHT?! Okay... okay I'm good. Sorry about that Kara!

I do love Friends. The "PIVOT!" episode was on TBS last week and I was laughing my butt off. I hadn't seen it in forever. Nothing is funnier than watching three people attempt to move a couch upstairs.

I totally know what you mean about getting a hobby. I feel like I should have something to do other than watching TV and thinking about Disney, but, ultimately, I'm just too lazy.

THANK YOU! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks a Pajama of the Month Club is a good idea. How fun would it be to get a new pair of pajamas in the mail each month? It would be like Christmas happening 12 additional times a year!

Those Disney commercials have been airing so often lately. I was watching Harry Potter all weekend on ABC Family and I had to have seen the commercial at least 50 times. I miss Disney.

The Epcot Entrance Loop is my #1 favorite.

Don't worry, there's still some happiness before we reach the sadness. Plus, at the rate I update, I won't reach the end of my birthday until 2012. LOL.

YES YES YES! I am so with you on that one!! I have such an awkward amount of love for pajamas!

Yay! Another pajama-lover! I'm so glad I'm not alone. Though I probably should have known you'd all love PJs as much as I do.

Exactly. It's a cute little ride but a 45 minute wait is 45 minutes longer than it's worth. :thumbsup2

I havent been to the boards in a few months because I havent been feeling very "Disney" lately but just letting you know I am back, still reading. Your entries are just as entertaining as ever! :)
Thanks! I totally know what you mean about not feeling very Disney lately. I went through a similar phase earlier in the year. I'm glad you're back now! :goodvibes

Hi Nikki! I really need to catch up on your new TR!

Yeah, I agree that much of the dialogue isn't great, but I'm hoping it will get better. Right now, I'm just so interested in the story that I'm willing to ignore the flawed dialogue. I was shocked that they've (apparently) wrapped up the Cinderella story in one episode. I figured it would be a multi-episode arc. I am worried that pacing will become a problem. I don't want it to turn into one of those shows whose first season blows me away and then everything falls apart because they've run out of story to tell. I guess we've just got to keep our fingers crossed. :)
I'm subbing! For some reason I'd thought you'd finished (probably because I would read new updates when they came up on the first page and always forgot to sub, haha) and am glad to see that you weren't!

I bet you're not alone in your Maelstrom love. It does have FP, so that must mean it's a must-do for quite a few people. I was just shocked to see it that crowded. Though, with the amount of people in the park, I probably shouldn't have been.

I feel like they'll probably stick to the traditional "Disney" fairytales, but it would be really cool to see lesser known stories included. The costumes would be gorgeous.

Hi! Thanks for joining in!

I'm so glad I could reintroduce you to the musical phenom, Aaron Carter. Everyone needs a little AC in their lives.

I'm going to be a sobbing mess as I write it, so we can all cry together. I just hope my laptop doesn't suffer too much water damage.

Oh, I know. COME ON, ABC. Who cares about the AMA's anyway? GIVE ME FAIRYTALES!

Yay an update! There is so much randomness in this, I don't know where to begin!

Haha, getting banned from Disney for suggesting polygamy to Aladdin is great! I mean, I guess if you get banned for anything, that's a good reason!

That princess mug is awesome! I love the UK section of World Showcase!

And the Canada store! OMG! Love Canada in WS too! I can't believe you actually have pj's from there...I always think about buying them, but never do! Maybe next time! I really need some pj's in my life with a moose on them.

Wow that line for Maelstrom is crazy! I LOVE Maelstrom, but 45 minutes? I get annoyed if I have to wait more than 15 minutes for that ride.

I can't put my love for Illuminations into words either. I might go on a Disney hiatus if they ever changed it...I need to know that I can see that show multiple times in one trip. :lovestruc

Hey, aren't you going to Disney next month? I'm going for a really super quick trip, 12/10-12/13, are you going to be there then? Maybe I'll see you dancing like a crazy person at the pre-Illuminations dance party! :rotfl:

AHH I WATCHED THAT ONE! That was hilarious. LOL last night I watched the one where Joey was like "I FOUND MY IDENTICAL HAND TWIN!!!" :lmao: I was dying. Joey is my favorite. :lovestruc
Hahaha I'm glad we're on the same page here. :rotfl: Whatever I think our lives are pretty awesome.
That would be the best thing that could ever happen. PAJAMAS ALL THE TIME!
I miss it too! Every time it comes on TV I freak it out.
Ahh that's a good one! Epcot music is the BEST!
Oh good I'm glad! Hahaha oh goodness. Well at least i have lots more to look forward to! :yay:

Did you notice your picture of the fire kinda had a Mickey Head in it ?? I'm enjoying your TR as always.

That is true. If I was going to get banned from WDW for anything, I'd want it to be that. ;)

You definitely need to buy some Canadian PJs. They are WONDERFUL.

We were supposed to go to Disney from 11/27-12/3, but something came up and we had to cancel. Boo. :sad2: I hope you have an AMAZING trip, though! Take lots of pictures of the Christmas decorations for me! :santa:

That's a great episode. I kinda forgot how brilliant Friends was. Now that I'm rewatching, it's just like OMG HOW IN THE WORLD DID I FORGET?

Disney should have Pajama parties at the MK. Like, during EMH everyone wears their pajamas and rides all the rides and stays up 'til 3 AM and has an amazing time. It would be the best.
Did you notice your picture of the fire kinda had a Mickey Head in it ?? I'm enjoying your TR as always.
I didn't notice that. Thanks for pointing it out! :goodvibes

First, let me thank you for your references to The Princess Diaries! I care not that I am 29 years old.... that movie will always be among my faves! :lovestruc

Ah, how I love WS! I really wish that I could be there this very second... :cloud9:

Well you're very welcome. I'm pretty much loving this TR. So much so, in fact, that I had to start reading your old one. I only got through the first few posts BUT... I did see that you mentioned Glee twice. I have to ask, I know it was over a year ago that you wrote that TR, but are you still a gleek?

I know though. I seriously could care less about the AMA's. Anyways, can't wait for more! (However I still have your old TR to keep me occupied. :thumbsup2 )

I adore The Princess Diaries. It's such a perfect little movie. I'm not crazy about the sequel (mainly because I refuse to believe Mia would end up with anyone other than Michael Moscovitz) but the first one is wonderful.

I agree. I've been majorly missing WS lately.

Aw, thanks for going back and reading that old thing. I hope you enjoy it! :goodvibes

I still like Glee. I'm not as big a fan as I used to be, but I still watch. I'm a sucker for singing and dancing. :rotfl:

I really am enjoying it! Reading it slowly but surely. It's hilarious. :thumbsup2

I'm the same way with Glee. Season 1 was the BEST. Season 2 was a bit of a mess and just not very 'glee'-full. I think it got a little better toward the end of season 2 though, and so far I'm enjoying season 3! I actually went to Glee Live over the summer... and it was AAAAAmazing.

Update from 10/17:
I too do not fancy the morning but I SPEED out of bed like the roadrunner in the morning at WDW. By the way, I am going to Disney World in two weeks and two days. Just thought you should know.

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well my friend. :( But omg, awwwww!!! I've never heard of Disney Voice Guy wishing anyone a happy birthday before! That is so awesome! I would totally cry too.

Oh my God.. I just laughed so freaking hard at "or a lazy woodpecker didn't feel like leaving the ground." LOL! That was obviously it.

"They probably slither around to the area music" LOLOLOL you are killing me today. But I mean, yeah probably. I like how they just let the snake live there? Like I understand (and love) them leaving the ducks and bunnies alone, but snakes freak people out.

Oh man, I remember my mom, dad, and I squeezing into one Doom Buggy at the Haunted Mansion once and it was painful! I'm so sorry you had another panic attack in there. I feel so bad. I hope it's getting better for you. I can't imagine being that scared and uncomfortable in the place I feel the most content, it must be so rough.:hug::hug:

OH...MY...GOD AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH. I rock. Deal with it, World! Thank you for the shoutout!!!! Aww. I miss that yittle guy. I love him! I can not wait to see him again!

Wait, you DIDN'T get a lesson in dolphin junk this year? Disney has really gone downhill. First Le Cellier is changed to two Dining Plan credits and now this? What's next, no Maelstrom?!

Update from 10/23
Come my lady, come come my lady. You're my butterfly. Sugar, baby.

Sigh. I thought CrazyTown were the next Beatles, but things just don't work out sometimes.

I live in a pretty Disney-less family and it is worse than poverty. No one gets it and they keep asking me why we're going AGAIN~*. "You just went!" Well that was over a year and a half ago but sure yeah we just went. My own mother is not even that excited for our trip. She is acting like a baby because she was all excited for the Food & Wine Festival and then my job got in the way. I'm like, um, yeah the F&W fest ended but... it's still Disney World? And Disney World is still pretty cool? Yes, I will miss F&W greatly as I ALWAYS do, but it's still Disney. They could like, close half of each park and I'd be very upset but IT'S STILL DISNEY. I could stay (gasp) off property and guess what... IT'S STILL DISNEY. You know? Sigh. Just needed to vent I guess. Wish I could go with someone who is DYING to go like me and is so excited they are crying every 3 minutes. She claims she will get more excited when our trip gets closer but um, it's 2 weeks away. Now is the time!!!

Mmmmmm those pictures are making me want Chipotle. Oh, Chipotle. Be still my heart.

I....am....so....jealous..............THAT YOU MET MAX GOOF?!?!? I have never even seen him in the parks! What!!!! And you are right about A Goofy Movie. Well, I don't know that it's ALWAYS been illegal but Obama's pretty cool and I'm sure he's taken care of that by now.

OH MY GOD those food competitions. I can't do it, Kara. WHEN THEY DIP THE HOT DOG BUNS IN WATER FIRST, OH MY GOD PUKING EVERYWHERE.

"We all know food is way more important than satirical reenactments." hahahaha oooh, tough call there though.

Lmaoooo you are too funny with the whole Marie thing. I love how excited you get. Most people would think you are such a freak and frankly, so do I but it's only because I am exactly the same and freaks recognize other freaks and ban together.

"I wanted to cuddle forever, but knowing that there were a horde of French waiters angry with us, Dad quickly snapped a picture and I bid her adieu." you are KILLING me today. Suuuuch a cute picture too. Dear God, I miss Disney. AAAAAH.

MMMM PANERA. Sheesh, now where will I have lunch?! Chipotle or Panera??!?! Can I just eat at Le Chefs or what? Sheesh.

Update from 10/27
"dining at any of the World Showcase restaurants is a magical experience because it combines two of life’s greatest pleasures: good food and attractive men." This is more true than anything that has ever been stated before. You know what, I usually don't eat at any Italian restaurant other than the BEST restaurant ever, Angelo's on Mulberry Street in Little Italy, just because nothing compares... but I may make an ADR for Tutto just because of the men. Like seriously just sit there and enjoy some alcohol and a dessert and gawk at them. Objectifying men is something I love to do at Disney, along with trying on goofy hats and riding Splash Mountain 5 times in a row. It's just tradition.

I actually still remember the name of the insanely hot, model-like french dude that worked at the crepe stand in April 2010. Victor, how I admire thee.

"Clearly, he didn’t understand the power of persuasion the Food Porn thread has." Yeah, that's a dealbreaker, ladies!

OH THIS FOOD. OH. THE GRATIN DE MACARONI. COME TO LIA, PLEASE.

YAYYYY Baba O'Riley! I always feel at home when I hear the sounds of British rock n roll coming from the UK. Not because I'm from the UK, but because my room is basically a hot bed for all British rockstar activity. I'm sure you knew that, though.

Update from 11/14
Cleeeeeeeeveland!! Reminds me of Floyd. Ugh I hate what they did with that storyline when he turned into a jerk and Liz poisioned him. I mean, it was still funny, but whatever, I digress.

Oh man, I can't even tell you how much it bothers me that I was not around for the heyday of the Gods known as The Beatles. Like, it actually BOTHERS me. I just don't understand it, why do I exist? If I was shaking and crying at the Ed Sullivan Show, I would be able to make sense of my life, but since I wasn't, I really don't know why I'm here.

Getting banned from WDW is my worst fear, even more than spiders. I would rather eat a live tarantula than be banned from Disney. I'm being serious. I mean, no more Disney? What could be worse? No more air? Fine, then let me die!!

I MISS 30 ROCK SO MUCH. January 12. Thank God. I think I'm going to start a marathon after Christmas to prepare completely for its triumphant return.

Wow, you must be a big Maelstrom fan. I can see you've gone to great lengths somehow convincing a bunch of people to act like they're in line for it while you take pictures. How much did you pay them? Look, I know you think the ride is great but no one is going to believe there were that many people waiting for Maelstrom so you should give up your charade now before it's too late.

Oh man I remember talking with you on Twitter for a long time on the 4th during all the craziness! I'm kind of a VIP, I already know all these details you're posting for the general public's pleasure now.

Don't feel bad, I often have the worst writer's block. I'm barely a writer. Sometimes I just want to write "Yeah, we were at Disney and we went places and did things! It was magical! The end." It's especially hard because against all odds, people have commented that my TR is funny and so I feel like I have to make it funny and when you TRY to be funny, you are never funny. Oh, the trials and tribulations of my life.

Well, awesome updates!!! Can't wait for more, but of course. I expect 13 updates minimum before I go to WDW so I can get EVEN MORE PUMPED. Which may not be possible but hey... nothing's impossible, right?:wizard:

I really am enjoying it! Reading it slowly but surely. It's hilarious. :thumbsup2

I'm the same way with Glee. Season 1 was the BEST. Season 2 was a bit of a mess and just not very 'glee'-full. I think it got a little better toward the end of season 2 though, and so far I'm enjoying season 3! I actually went to Glee Live over the summer... and it was AAAAAmazing.
I'm jealous. I kinda wanted to go when they were in Cleveland, but I couldn't find anyone who would go with me. Boo.

I know, right? That's what confused me. Why would they just let a snake live in the planter? What if it went crazy and attacked someone? The CM didn't say what kind of snake it was. What if it was poisonous?

God, this place is going to the dogs. /dracomalfoy ;)

Don't you love that I can make HP references now? I don't know what my life was without them.

Aw, I'm sorry you don't have anyone to freak out with. Let's use our IMAAAAAAAGINAAAAAATIONS and pretend that we're flailing together.

:yay:

You're going to DIS-NEY. You're going to DIS-NEY. WOOT WOOT. :woohoo:

Yep, that's why we need to do our AWESOME PEOPLE FROM THE DIS trip. Going with other people who are all out of their minds excited would be amazing. Disney wouldn't know what hit 'em.

THAT'S THE BEST PART! Some of them use, like, fruit punch and lemonade instead of water. It's ridiculous. I cannot not watch that.

SAME. I loved Floyd. :sad2:

I cannot wait for more Liz Lemon. I'm mad at NBC right now for taking Community off the midseason schedule, but once 30 Rock comes back, I'm sure all that will have been forgotten. I just love that its in syndication now and is on TV like all the time. There's nothing better than flipping around and stumbling upon Jack Donaghy. Nothing.

Wow, you must be a big Maelstrom fan. I can see you've gone to great lengths somehow convincing a bunch of people to act like they're in line for it while you take pictures. I am quite persuasive. Also, I'm a secret millionaire who has been living a life undercover as a poor college student who mooches off her parents while filming for a TV show called, unsurprisingly, Secret Millionaire. It'll be airing after Undercover Boss on CBS this spring. Just keep it quiet for now. We still have to film the big reveal with the flock of boys who've been begging for my value-priced milkshake for months now. Will they still love me when they find out I'm a millionaire???

Wait...
Oh man I remember talking with you on Twitter for a long time on the 4th during all the craziness! I'm kind of a VIP, I already know all these details you're posting for the general public's pleasure now.
This is true. If this were My Super Sweet Sixteen, you'd be riding on the unicorn with me into my party. Only after I made you swear on your life that I'm the most important person in the world and made you try on 500 dresses that were pretty but not quite as pretty as my own, of course.

Those girls were awful.
Don't feel bad, I often have the worst writer's block. I'm barely a writer. Sometimes I just want to write "Yeah, we were at Disney and we went places and did things! It was magical! The end." I'll get to work. :thumbsup2

JULY 5TH PART ONE: D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R A DINOSAUR
On this morning, I broke my #1 rule for touring WDW in the summer.

I slept in.

Before you guys banish me from the DISboards, keep in mind that it was my birthday. The birthday girl should always be allowed to choose how late she sleeps on her special day. That’s how birthdays work. Also, I really only slept an hour later than I should have. I woke up at 8 instead of my usual Disney 7:00. It wasn’t that bad.

While I slept and/or ran around getting ready like a chicken with its head cut off, (Speaking of which, I fell asleep with the Disney Channel on the other day and woke up to the sound of Muppet chickens “singing” Forget You by Cee-Lo Green…I was convinced someone drugged me) Dad went for a morning walk to photograph the resort.
144.jpg

This lake is HUGE. In the distance, you can see El Centro and part of the Casitas.

148.jpg

This is part of Ranchos 6B which was our building. I love the blue posts on the walkways. I also love the festive directional signs.

149-1.jpg

You wouldn’t necessarily think so (or at least I didn’t think so until we stayed there), but CSR has a lot of pretty trees.

152-1.jpg

There’s also an abundance of cacti. Who doesn’t love an abundance of cacti?

153-1.jpg

This is another building in the Ranchos section. It might be 6A. It might also be one of the 7s. I don’t really know.

154-1.jpg

The signs for each of the Ranchos buildings feature a “Southwestern” animal. Ours had a snake. Of course.

Around 8:30, Dad, Katie, and Wade headed off to the Animal Kingdom. Mom stayed back with me while I finished getting ready. Even with my extra hour of sleep, we still made it to the bus stop by 9:00. We had to wait for a bus, but it wasn’t terribly long. I texted Katie once we were on the bus and we agreed to meet at Dinosaur. She and Wade had just gotten off Expedition: Everest.

Can you spot them?
156.jpg

Once we arrived at AK, Mom and I began the long trek from the bus stop to the main entrance. Why does this walk seem so long? I mean, it’s not like we’re covering that much ground. It just always seems like we’re walking forever. :confused3

Do you think they’ll be adding a little Avatar guy to this sign?
388.jpg

What are the Avatar people even called? The Blue Man Group? Blue Pocahontas? Dollar signs? Cha-ching?

391.jpg

Let the Memories Begin: Jungle Edition

While we were going through the turnstiles, a CM noticed my birthday button and asked if it was my actual birthday. When I said yes, she pointed to another CM and said that it was his birthday today as well. I’ve never met anyone who I share a birthday with, so I thought this was really cool. I waved and yelled “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” at him as we headed in. Hopefully, it actually was his birthday and the CM wasn't just messing with me...

392.jpg

It wouldn’t be a July trip to WDW without tour guides. I haven’t really mentioned them much in this TR, but the Brazilian tour groups were out in full-force. I guess I’ve just become immune to large groups of people chanting “BRA-ZIL! BRA-ZIL!”

Our destination:
402.jpg

I love that it says “The Friendliest Fossils in America.” I’ve never noticed that before. Disney, your details are the best.

Here’s something else I’ve never noticed before:
405.jpg

A crocodile! In murky green water!

According to this sign,
406.jpg

It’s an AMERICAN crocodile. That means it’s the best, most awesome kind of crocodile. I’m assuming his name is Gary and he enjoys NASCAR, cheap beer, and ‘You Might Be a Redneck If’ jokes. I’m also assuming he has a hunting license and is one KFC Double Down away from a heart attack.

U-S-A! U-S-A!

While the American crocodile was cool and all, who cares about those goobers when there are DINOSAURS to see?
409.jpg

I have to say, I’m a bit perplexed by the weird flappiness going on in his bottom area. Lipo gone wrong?

413.jpg

Of course they put the friendliest looking dino that doesn't sing about how much he loves children outside of the ride. Of course.

Can you say 'false advertising?'

Anyway, we met up with the rest of the gang and headed inside. The wait time was 5 minutes, so we just walked right through the queue up until the Bill Nye the Science Guy room where they hold you until the pre-show room is available.

But first, a drawing of diseased dinosaurs:
417.jpg

I think this is my new favorite thing at WDW. I mean, look at their tongues! And the drool!

Will someone PLEASE invent a time machine so I can go back and watch this hilarity in person?

What’s that? The rabid dinosaurs would probably just try to kill me?

Well, that’s a risk I’m willing to take.

418.jpg

To quote Queen Stacey, “LOOK AT THOSE CHOMPAS!”

They herded us into the Pre-Show room and I laughed some more. Dr. Marsh reminds me of the Chief from Carmen Sandiego. Of course, I can’t think about Carmen Sandiego without the awesome Rockapella theme song:

Steal their Seoul in South Korea,
Make Antarctica cry uncle,
From the Red Sea to Greenland,
They’ll be singing the blues.
Well they never Arkansas her
Steal the Mekong from the jungle
Tell me where in the world is
CARMEN SANDIEGO.

I loved that show.

After the Pre-Show, we were let loose into the loading area. I hate how people are so pushy. It’s not like you’re competing for a spot with 500 other people. The wait time isn’t going to be that different whether you’re the first person or the last person out the door. So, take a chill pill, folks. I know this is the Animal Kingdom, but I didn’t sign up to experience a stampede.

Before long, we boarded our Time Rover and said goodbye to the present. I love that the Safety Spiel Voice Lady addresses us as “Time Travelers.” It makes me feel special. Then, Seeker, my least favorite person in the whole wide world, takes over and I feel a lot less special. The constant refrain of “GO GO GO!” “HANG ON” or “KEEP GOING KEEP GOING” frustrates me like no other. Last time I checked, you’re the one controlling the Time Rover, Seeker. If you actually knew what you were doing, we wouldn’t have to hang on. Also, would it kill ya to maybe not send us into a meteor shower? I mean, I know you’re like obsessed with dinosaurs or whatever but even Jim Cantore, Severe Weather Enthusiast, wouldn’t run towards a meteor shower. It’s just silly. To top it all off, we manage to put up with your crazy ranting for 5 minutes AND bring the Iguanadon back with us and what do we get in return? A measly “Thanks for everything!”

Seeker, you are the worst.

We gathered our belongings from the special belongings pouches and went to look at our On-Ride photo. I had my face buried in Mom’s arm. This is not surprising. I’ve yet to actually see the Carnotaurus. I probably never will. In twenty years, I’ll have my face buried in my kid’s arm. Just you wait and see.

After the ride, I made a new dinosaur friend:
159-1.jpg

He’s the Flounder to my Ariel. The Raja to my Jasmine. The Meeko to my Pocahontas.

I just need to teach him how to braid my hair.

I thought this bench was really cool:
424.jpg

I do question whether or not these dinos were designed by actual children. I hope that they were, but I feel like professional artists just dumbed their work down to make it look like it was done by kids. How cool would it be if actual kids had their work displayed in WDW though? It’s like having your mom hang your drawings on the fridge or putting the pathetic popsicle stick Christmas ornaments you made on the tree each year but way more awesome.

Well, that’s all for now, folks.

I leave you with "C’mon, bro” dinosaur.
426.jpg

UP NEXT: Chillin’ with our 808490329023222nd cousins

I've always loved your updates to your reports, you have a unique sense of humor that I just love.

But the American Crocodile bit? I was cracking up so much that my husband asked me what was so funny

And I :lovestruc Carmen Sandiego. I always wanted to be on that show!
