I Kicked it I Played it and now..Wheeling & Dealing at the WL final 9/9 p87/88

Welcome back from the OBX :goodvibes Looks like you had a great time and I am looking forward to the rest of your trip/pictures :thumbsup2
What an awesome birthday present from Ranger Joe!!! Stunning view from the rooftop and interesting story about the totem poles too :)

Let's see.....drinks...definitely check out The Ditch in Mexico for the ritas...I had the blood orange and the classic..loved them both and will try the crab tostadas next trip too ;)
Lost on Safari from the Dawa bar while watching the African dancers (I had just missed Ellen on that same day!!) There are drinks from over by Y&Y too and they sound delicious too.
Speaking of Ellen :rotfl2: she is probably the one to ask!!! I remember her saying something about a raspberry drink when she was at the TOTWL for Wishes. I also had a good rita at the little shed place by the water at DTD..you can slam it on your way to Basin:rotfl2:
That's all I can think of right now but I am sure to have more...I think I have temper tummy right now and am hungry so my mind is all cloudy! :rotfl2:

Congrats on the 1000th post :cheer2:

I polled my family and here are some of our favorites....
Snacks: Sunshine Seasons Strawberry Shortcake, egg roll and rice kids meal at Yak & Yeti cs and the pineapple popsicle at AK

Drinks:Dale says go with the Backscratcher! ;)

Other stuff:I know Bob at POR gets a lot of attention but we love Elliot Dison at POFQ. We also love Jelly Rolls!

My favorite drink is the Pina Colava, but I'm pretty sure you can get that almost anywhere on property that serves alcohol.

For snacks, you know I love the cream cheese pretzel even though some people are not loving it, I feel as though I have let them down. :scared1: Let's see...other snacks...have you had the beignets from POFQ? Those are worth trying. I also have to second the strawberry shortcake recommendation from Sunshine Seasons, it's delightful.

As for other things, to soak up the details. How about the Castle mosiac? It's really pretty and I bet you can get WONDERFUL pictures of it with your camera. I also vote for pictures of the Liberty Tree. I love that. Also, I don't think the main boulevard at Hollywood Studios gets enough attention, the signs and the humor of the signs are wonderful. :goodvibes

I saw the Jalapeno pretzel stand at Animal Kingdom as you walk off Kali River Rapids. It was to our right (we just got a regular one).

I got my frozen chai from The Royal Anandapur Tea Company. I think I have a picture of it at home on the computer. It was right past Yak and Yeti as you head towards Everest on the right.

As far as recommendations...let's see...you know I love the Lost on Safari, the Grand Marnier slushie (same stand as Grey Goose), the Bellini in Italy, and the Tangerine Daquiri in Morocco (inside the Tangerine Cafe).

For snacks, I want to try the gelato at the Italian stand -- if it is anything like the gelato at Tutto Italia, it will be divine. Of course, I love the Dole Whips at MK.

(And don't forget to see the Main Street Electrical Parade while you are at the Magic Kingdom! :lovestruc)

Another fun thing is the piano player just outside of Casey's at MK. He is only there certain times, but it's fun. He takes requests too. When we took the girls for the first time, Sarah was almost 3 and we've got some great video of her dancing to his music.

I'd go to the Main Street Bakery for a cinnamon roll and/or the Confectionary for some fudge! They had a lot of similar treats there as at Goofy's. Very cute stuff and yummy too.

How about a ride on the Riverboat? I bet you'd get some cool pictures too.

Welcome back from the OBX :goodvibes Looks like you had a great time and I am looking forward to the rest of your trip/pictures :thumbsup2

It was such a fun trip. The two moms on the trip are the ones I am supposed to take to Disney in May. but now we are thinking about the OBX in June! Not sure how that is all going to play out, but I am definitely buying an AP in September so I will definitely need to plan another trip and I really do want to see more of the flower and garden festival.

What an awesome birthday present from Ranger Joe!!! Stunning view from the rooftop and interesting story about the totem poles too :)

The roof was amazing and Ranger Joe actually didn't even know it was my birthday. I didn't even wear a pin and I still got the VIP treatment.

Great ideas>

Blood Orange Rita
Classic Rita

Lost on Safari

TOTWL - raspberry drink

DTD - ritas again.

Got it! (actually I am going to make a list)

That's all I can think of right now but I am sure to have more...I think I have temper tummy right now and am hungry so my mind is all cloudy! :rotfl2:

I hope you had a great lunch!

Congrats on the 1000th post :cheer2:

Drinks:Dale says go with the Backscratcher! ;)

Other stuff:I know Bob at POR gets a lot of attention but we love Elliot Dison at POFQ. We also love Jelly Rolls!

Drink - Backscratcher (sounds a little strong, but I may be up for the challege)

Food - Strawberry shortcake ....I have heard this is delish! Egg roll - I looked for these last trip and couldn't find them. I must try one.
Pineapple popsicle - that sounds YUM

Other stuff - Eliot Dison, POR - bob, Jelly Rolls - also a great idea! I am definitely seeing one of these!

My favorite drink is the Pina Colava, but I'm pretty sure you can get that almost anywhere on property that serves alcohol.

Drink - pina Colava. sounds yummy

creamcheese pretzel even though some people are not loving it, I feel as though I have let them down. :scared1: Let's see...other snacks...have you had the beignets from POFQ? Those are worth trying. I also have to second the strawberry shortcake recommendation from Sunshine Seasons, it's delightful.

I am definitely having a biegnet on Sunday morning and I don't care what others say about the cream cheese pretzel - its on my list for this trip.

That's two votes for the strawberry shortcake and I have seen its picture -yum!

:goodvibes

I love the castle mosaic and that's a great idea. I would love to take pictures of it with my new camera. I will put Liberty Tree on the list, too.
And I agree that the main boulevard does not get enough attention. Great ideas!!!!! Love it!

Thank you! Now I know where to go! Perfect.

As far as recommendations...let's see...you know I love the Lost on Safari, the Grand Marnier slushie (same stand as Grey Goose), the Bellini in Italy, and the Tangerine Daquiri in Morocco (inside the Tangerine Cafe).

I completely forgot about the Bellini and I had no idea there was a Tangerine Daquiri. That sounds amazing!

:lovestruc)

Jen said the number one thing she wants is a Dole whip. I like the idea of that gelato.

We will definitely be seeing the Electrical Parade. I am psyched that it will still be there in September!

Another fun thing is the piano player just outside of Casey's at MK. He is only there certain times, but it's fun. He takes requests too. When we took the girls for the first time, Sarah was almost 3 and we've got some great video of her dancing to his music.

I had no idea about this. Sounds like a blast. I love all the piano players. I will be on the lookout!

I'd go to the Main Street Bakery for a cinnamon roll and/or the Confectionary for some fudge! They had a lot of similar treats there as at Goofy's. Very cute stuff and yummy too.

I love cinnamon rolls - excellent idea and I would never turn my nose up at fudge. I will be on the lookout for that.

How about a ride on the Riverboat? I bet you'd get some cool pictures too.

It's been over two years since I was on the Riverboat, so that's definitely a possibility and you are right about the wonderful picture opportunities.

OMGosh, this would look so awesome framed!!! :worship:

If you are up to a DJ and dancing, check out the Rix Lounge at the CSR. Also, as far as food, Mark swears by the eclairs in France.

Okay I'm going with Jackie and you have to have a Frozen Chai....they are amazing!!! As far as snacks if you can get in the Fried Wontons at Yak and Yeti are so worth it just for a dessert break!! Of course I also think everyone should go home with Disney fudge!! LOL!!!

Know what I love about that food list? Nothing remotely healthy in there!!! Yummy!!!

:rotfl2: Not even close! :rotfl2:

Thanks! Yes - the tour was amazing and going to the roof was totally unexpected. What a major bonus!!!!!!!

Thanks. I might think about framing some of my photos from this trip and that photo might just make the cut. Such a different perspective.

Great suggestions. I will add them to the list! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

That's two votes for the frozen chai (actually three since I originally got the idea from Brooke's PTR) and two votes for fudge.:thumbsup2 So fried Wontons are actually a dessert???? I didn't know that. I will try them when Jen and I have dinner at Y&Y.

Another vote for the frozen chai and thanks to everyone i know exactly where to find it!

I am definitely hitting the margarita stand in DTD!:thumbsup2

I reloaded my PP pictures so I can show you proof that we actually had a bit of a private photo session after our personal WL and Roof tour. You see, when we got back down to the lobby I asked Ranger Joe if we could get a PP photographer to take a picture of ALL of us together. Of course, he was on a first name basis with the photographer and in no time she had us lined up for pictures.......

Pictures with my camera.....

(She didn't do that great of a job - just goes to show that I could probably be a photopass photog)

Not sure why this pictures are so small. :confused3

I mentioned to Ranger Joe that I had already purchased the PP CD but I didn't have quite as many pictures as I wanted, so he sent the pp photographer outside with us to take pictures around the pool. Can you imagine Denny's surprise when we showed up with our own personal photographer. Our DB friends (K&T) had already arrived and were lounging by the pool. Get your butts up, said I. It's picture time......

Oh YEAH - Who SAYS I NEVER SMILE?

Image0167.jpg

Does anyone remember where the photo size is on photobucket? I had it set to the largest size, but maybe it got changed somehow with this last import.

Oh well - no worries.

After our photo session we changed into our bathing suits and found a fairly shady area around the pool to spend our afternoon. It was sort of a strange afternoon for me. I got into a bit of a funk. I'm not sure why - maybe its because it was my last day, maybe it was because I was still a little freaked out about the dreaded D returning, maybe its because I will still a bit bummed about not making it into an AI show. Whatever was bugging me caused me to withdraw a bit from the general conversation. But the rest of the group was having a great time.

Fortunately we had 6 CS credits left so we were able to treat K and T to lunch by the pool. We also enjoyed watching the pool party. Well, I know I enjoyed it until the point when Chuck told the CM that it was my b-day and she tried to coax me into joining the hula hoop contest with a bunch of kids. Normally I would have played along and embarrassed myself, but today I just wasn't feeling it. So I must have still been smarting from the AI rejection - OUCH! Poor Me :charac2: Anyway - the more she kept trying to get me to participate, the more I dug my heels in and resisted. But seriously, I would have been the only adult up there and I just couldn't do it.

But the kids were great - some of them were downright amazing. They got to the point where 3 kids had 5 hula hoops each. Amazing. Once they added the 5th hula hoop 2 of the 3 kids dropped like flies and the winner got to choose some crappy toy out of the toy chest. Seriously - that kid was amazing and they should have given him something really cool - like an ice cream sundae or a round of drinks from the bar (kidding - seriously - I couldn't resist) :rolleyes1

Our afternoon passed by pretty quickly. I forget the exact time of our flight, but I knew we had until about 5pm until we had to leave the resort. So by 4pm I realized that time was ticking and I better get my last round of pictures. So I put that camera to work for the final time......

Some Nice pool person offered to take our picture and I think he did better than the PP person. Here we are - all changed and ready to head out to MCO.......

IMG_4282.jpg

We headed through the main lobby to say our final goodbyes and I took a few final pictures on our way to the parking lot......

Continued Next Post........

Good bye Roof....

One more......

IMG_4316.jpg

I don't remember much about our return trip home other than the flight left pretty much on time and was uneventful. Not nearly as entertaining as our flight there. The flight was not completely full so we had a little room to spread out and I obviously got a window seat so I was able to take a few more pictures......

And that's the end folks... Well, its the end of my actual trip. You know I will continue with final thoughts, new experiences, best and worst list, more PTR stuff, and, of course, more pictures from Tennessee.

So stick around because I have more stuff to talk about! Thanks so much for reading and enjoying my TR and my pictures!!!!!!!!!

Sorry you got into a bit of a funk the last afternoon! I think it happens to the best of us from time to time!

The pictures with Ranger Joe are just too cute, and I love all the shots you got of the Lodge! The ones from the parking lot are just too cool! It makes me want to stay there! :goodvibes

Great pictures, MEK! As always. I'm amazed at all of your pictures, not that I didn't think you had it in you but they are seriously great!!

The last day is always a bummer, sorry you were in a bit of a funk.

Just think, not many more days until you are in Disney again!!

I haven't had a chance to do comments on my PTR, but I love the idea of meeting up at the Top of the World Lounge....is that what it's called? My brain isn't working to full capicity yet this morning. What night would you want to dot hat???

Sorry you had a case of the last-day blues! It seems like overall though you had a wonderful vacation! :goodvibes

Oh, I'm sorry you were sad on your last day, it's hard not to be when you're leaving WDW! :goodvibes

I love all the WL pictures! They're making me so sad that I won't be staying there this November! :sad1: The sunset pictures from the plane are beautiful!

I'm going to try to think of suggestions for your next trip, but a lot of the things I would have suggested are already there! I know you definitely have to get a margarita in Mexico though, they're fantastic! :)
