I don't remember where you are staying, but (FYI) there is an nondenominational (Christian) chapel in Corolla, near the lighthouse, where we attended services years ago. I think they only have Sunday am services. So if you visit OBX again....

I found the Chapel on Sunday! It's actually within walking distance of our house. We are just above milepost 12 on Coral St. It's a nice area and nice location. I can also walk to the part of beach where the horses are. The weather was perfect today!

Beautiful pictures. The sunset picture is my favorite so far. A close second is "someone's dog".

The OBX looks amazing!!!!! That drive....not so much.

It is a really beautiful place and I noticed that everyone is out running or biking in the morning. Its a really active community...pretty cool. I am not used to that.

Gorgeous house! We stayed in Duck a few years ago, but took a drive through Corolla. Very pretty houses there!

The Currituck lighthouse is very pretty...nice grounds and the view is great and so is the walk up Good workout! We always stayed farther south in the Hatteras/Waves area which was nice to add some more driving to the already long trip

Love the pictures of OBX, we stayed in Nag's Headon our vacation there. We went after Labor Day & the drive was great, not a soul was there. Well maybe a few, restaurants were empty no waits. Also, no traffic on the Banks. It was a great time to go.

Thanks! We had a really great time. Denny told me he liked it better than Disney. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! But, honestly, I would definitely go back again. It was very relaxing and scenic.

The weather was great the rest of the week. Super hot and sunny. almost too hot and sunny! But, hey - I am not complaining. I loved it.

We tried for a Sunday to Sunday rental, but that didn't happen. I think we just picked a really big vacation week. Yes - the drive was worth it.

The lighthouse was so perfect. We should have walked up it on Sunday because by midweek there were lines all the way across the lawn. So we never climbed it because I was selfish and wanted the whole lighthouse to myself. But that's ok - I will return in the fall sometime!

We are home from OBX. Had a great trip! It was a very different type of vacation. Very relaxing without the distractions of daily life. I really enjoyed Corolla and Duck. Beautiful. I will post pictures as they get uploaded, but here are a few group shots.......

I missed the group shot as I was taking the picture. This is after we all jet-skied.

Here's our post dinner picture from last night. We ate at the Oceanfront Grille (recommended by Podsnel / Ellen). She was right. The crabcakes were simply amazing!!!!!!

Be back soon to finish my Tennessee update and My last Disney day update. I want to get this baby wrapped up because it won't be long and I will be returning to WDW in September.
