I just watched the NEW parade at WDW - Celebrate a Dream Come True

It's not good. It looks like every parade WDW has ever done for an afternoon type.

I pray that DL's isn't like this.

That's a bummer! I just read that there will be a new street parade beginning on March 27, which is our last day at DL. I really hope it's a good one, although pleasing a 4 year old isn't too difficult, especially at Disneyland!

If so, I'm not sure why people can't just watch the parade? Why does Disney believe that guests have to be part of the parade?

I agree with you! I am not a fan of the interactive parade. They feel that they can substitute quality and amount for getting some tourists to stand up and fake dance.

the same floats they were using for the afternoon parades last summer. For instance, the Mickey float used to be black and white...now it's in bright colors. Same float. Most even have the same characters. I hear the theme music changed, but to me the same floats with different music don't equal a new parade.

BTW, Mike, what is the news on Legoland in Lee's Summit. Did they ever get moving on that? Now that I've decided we're going to DLR this summer I'm rethinking a trip back "home". I might wait and go over Thanksgiving so we can go to the Plaza Lighting. I know there've been big changes at the Stadiums and downtown since I moved away 18 months ago, but I can't find any news about Legoland. Did they scrap the idea????

That is sad. They should have spent more effort and money on a new parade. I also do not like the interactive parades. Would much MUCH rather watch a great parade instead.

It looks like every parade WDW has ever done because basically, it IS. They've mostly been doing nothing but recycle the same floats since 2001. Add some different music, a little paint, and TA DAA! What's old is new again!


I don't really think that this Celebrate Street Party that DL is going to get will be anything to write home about, honestly. I have a feeling that it's going to be something very basic simply used as a placeholder until next year when they roll out a brand new parade for DL's 55th birthday.

Anyway, if the rumors are true about the MK eventually getting The Parade of Dreams, it will be a good thing! That poor park deserves a truly different parade after all these years.

Yes, according to the description on the Disney auditions website (I'd post it here but there are currently no auditions for it). However, I don't know how "interactive" it will be, simply because the description mentioned swing dancing (if they're doing tricks that'll wow the crowd, which is part of what swing is about, they can't exactly pull some random person from the crowd to partner with) and they had an audition for stilt walkers (stilt walkers and little kids running around their feet don't mix well). The other dancing mentioned was a conga line, so that may be as "interactive" as it gets.

Im sorry... I know so many others are gonna really enjoy this, and I dont mean to be the frog in the punch bowl, but this looks like a big huge corny mess. I miss the Parade of Dreams already. I really dont have any words to discribe this. I am actually a little frightened. I mean first of all... the music WOAH! Then you have this HUGE awesome looking float of the Genie and Aladdin flying on a carpet, and dancing around him on the float is Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins & Bert like they were supposed to fit in with the theme. Then you dont have cool dancers before each float dressed up in the theme of the up coming boat. Its just dancers in bright colored dresses and mens suits waving, twirling and basically doing an out of sync high school dance class routine.

Hmmm.... maybe I am just dumb or hypnotised, but I just watched the entire parade and it looks fun to me.

Dancing, characters, floats. It's a Disney parade. Not sure what else people want. No clue if this is the same parade DL will see post Main Street repair but it looks fun. And I don't see "interactive" at all, maybe those auditions were for something else.

I for one can't wait to see the Celebrate Street Parade. My DNephew just got hired for it on Saturday so we are very excited to see him in it. He told us about the interactive part with the swing and conga line. I for one will be there on the 27th to see the premiere. He's going to tell us where to stand so he'll be in front of us. I know the parade will stop at 3 locations. We'll know more in about a month after rehearsals start.


His first parade was just this Christmas. We couldn't see his face but he made sure we knew which character he was. This time he won't be wearing a mask-we are all very proud of him making it.

The floats in that parade aren't bad. But the dances between each float are kind of dumb. They are boring and it's the same thing over and over.

Oh, and the music is awful. But Disney parades always have bad music.
