Amen! We are trying to find my dad one, it just needs to be simple! And have a keypad he can use with his big fingers and not so great eyesight. And afford! Why don't they understand not everyone wants all that junk that they bundle with it? Some people just need a phone.

Trying to find my dad the same thing that you are looking for, he only needs it in case of emergency on the road or if his car breaks down. I bought him a tracfone but he said that it is too small & that the #'s are too small. He used to have a T-mobile that was larger with larger #'s & it was either lost or stolen. I looked at T-mobile in the store friday & they were all small.

Let me know if you find one.

Michie, I ahve the PERFECT PHONE FOR YOU. It ONLY makes calls. NOTHING ELSE.

There is one that is advertised on TV that's especially for seniors. Bigger buttons, easier to use, etc. I have NO idea what it's called but you can probably get the info from AARP or even by googling it. edited to add: it's called the jitterbug. You can see it at http://www.jitterbug.com

You mean I'm not the only one who prefers the simplest phone out there? I currently have a Kyocera phone but need to get another one soon. Unfortunately, the simplest phone Verizon has now is a Nokia phone and I'm not too fond of the Nokia brands (had one in the past and didn't like it).

That jutterbug looks perfect! Now if we can convince him to give up his huge one from 5 years ago!

I am so with you! DH's phone is on the fritz, and I went to Cingular to get a new phone for him. The salespeople all want to give us the media package for another 10 bucks a month and a free fancy phone. They look at me like I'm crazy when I say "here's my camera (fish the digital out of my bag), and I've got a perfectly good laptop at home. I just want to MAKE CALLS!"

I'm not sure what we're going to find when our contract is up and they give us another phone. Ugh.

Have you tried prepaid phones? I've only had Tracfones. I started with them very shortly after they first came out, and I just got my third. It is a Motorola, and has text messaging, but that's really all. It was $30 at Target, and they even have cheaper ones. I just saw another model at Wal-Mart for under $15! Good luck in your search!
