The fight between the points and the discount was killing me. We already have a vacation booked in December since March for cash through CRO but I was trying to figure out a way to use the points.

Well, they foudna 1- bedroom available for the nights I want in January so now I can cancel my cash ressie and need to research the DDP for DVC members, the AP, and make all new ADR's and cancel my old ones.

So, what goes on in January? I'll be there from the 10-19 at BWV's. Is there anything special going on in the parks?

If I buy the DDP, do I have to book it for my entire stay? I'm thinking we'll grocery shop for this trip cuz if I have to pay for 10 days of DDP then I'm not doing it this trip.

One more, I was booked for 5 in the BWV's preferred? In the layout in the book, there is only room for 4 people. Is there another chair that folds out? Can I get a cot? Or is the 5th and smallest person to sleep on a "daybed" ?

Thanks for all the answers!! :flower3:

I did have one problem on the phone though, when I was making my reservations, I found myself using words the BWV instead of Boardwalk Villa's and POR instead of Port Orleans Riverside, etc, etc... I was a crazy woman! :rotfl: I usually only talk about WDW vacations online so I was talking like I would be on here. Anyone else do that?

Congrats... I know I was excited when I did mine... :woohoo:

Don't have any answers to your questions, but glad to share the moment. Welcome Home! :thumbsup2

Question, why do you need to make all new ADR's? Are the travel dates different? If not keep them.

During your time I think the marathon will be going on, not sure exactly but I know they are right around those dates. Also MLK day (just a bit busier in the parks). Maybe the Pirate and Princess Party, if they decide to do it again next year, but it didn't start until the end of January this year. Other than that, nothing going on.

Yes the DDP is for the entire stay, unless you book 2 seperate reservations, but it does have to be for every person in the party for the entire length of stay.

The villas only accomdate 4, there isn't a chair or cot or even extra bedding, you will have to provide that all yourself. An air matress is a good idea.

Congrats on your first trip.

Why would they tell me that a 1 bedroom can accomodate 5 if it only has room for four to sleep? They asked how many people and their ages and then proceeded to tell me what they had to offer for my time period. I guess I can bring a sleeping bag if I have to.

Hi and Welcome Home !!
To the best of my knowledge you can get 5 in at your home resort in a one bedroom (AKV) but not the one bedrooms at BWV .
The five in a one bedroom is something that sold alot of larger families on buying into AKV .
Best wishes and an air- mattress when your at Disney isn't such a bad thing --heck the kids will probably fight over it ,,

Is one of the people a very small child? I don't think that they count toddler's or younger.

Congratulations on your first DVC Member reservation. Welcome Home!!

Member Services currently will allow 5 in a one bedroom unit. However, the unit has a king bed and a queen sized sofa sleeper, no additional towels or bedding will be provided for the 5th person. Many people bring an air mattress or sleeping bag.

Occupancy discussions are a hot topic on the DVC forums and are limited to this thread only, where you may continue the discussion, if you wish.
