I have been having car trouble for over a week now, my van would sometimes start without a problem, other times it would just click. First we found out a chipmunk is living in my engine, took care of that, second dh replaced the sparkplugs , D.Kurz, this is where you have to read. Three of the sparkplugs are in the front of the engine, not a problem. The other three are behind the engine , it is a royal pain to get to those, you have to take half of the engine apart to reach them. I took the time to get to them and replace them. Then dh and I put the car back together and the problem is still there. Now we are contemplating at several other things but they all point out to the starter. We start by checking conections, so this time I decided to get under the car, take the first conection out, clean it out because there was corrosion and clean it. It has started every single time since! But you should have seen my neighbor's faces seeing me under the van working on it, I guess they are not used to see a woman working on cars, LOL.
Bottom line is Dorothy, if you need to replace those plugs, pay someone to do it, if you do it yourself, unless you know what you are doing and have the right tools, it's a royal pain, because of the poor design on it!
The next car I ever buy, if I cannot see all the spark plugs when I open the hood, I'm not buying it!
So , what's next for me to learn? Climb telephone poles like Snoopy?
