Hi. When we go to WDW next Tues. it will be 2 weeks since I had major surgery. (Gastric Bypass.) I have healed at an unbelievable rate. Dr. and Nurses started commenting on it as early as the recovery room. I am 9 days out now and I am walking 1 mile at a pretty good clip twice a day. Doctor has ok'ed trip. That being said, please don't burn me.

My DH and I are flying down on Tues. and he will spend weekdays in conference. I plan to rent a motorized scooter and take the long tour (Magic of Disney?) one day. I also plan to spend a day at one of the salons getting a complete makeover to celebrate my new start in life. That leaves me only one extra day to find something to do (my dh will be with me for the weekend.) I know, I know, I could just lay by the pool but I've spent the last 9 days recouperateing and I'm going stir crazy. Any ideas of anything that would entertain me and yet not completely wear me out? Thanks for any help. :flower:

Have you heard about the Segway Tour at Epcot. You have to be able to stand for 2 hours from what I heard, but you get to tour the World Showcase without too much walking.

Just wanted to say congrats on your new life. Hope everything turns out wonderful for you. Have a great Disney trip.

There is also a weight restriction on the Segway Tour -- you must be under 250 lbs. Not sure where your "starting point" was prior to surgery, or where you are now, so that may be moot at this point, but worth noting.

Congrats on your success so far!

I can't believe that you're considering travelling just two weeks after GB! I imagine that it will be difficult for you to eat, since you'll either be on liquids or soft foods still. My biggest concern would be that you could develop a complication so far from home, even though you're doing really well right now.

I didn't have GB, but I had the lap-band on 12/29/2004. Although I felt pretty good at two weeks out, NO WAY did I have the stamina to do something like WDW.

I think that your ideas about the motorized scooter and taking it easy are good ones.

Best of luck to you on your new journey! It's certainly an exciting one!

Congrats on your GB success. I used to work in surgical sales with GB as one of the surgeries I would go in. Very interesting!

My suggestion is to go to Animal Kingdom with a scooter. You can see so much and yet not have to feel like you are missing anything. Go, enjoy! :flower:

I don't really have any suggestions. I just wanted to say CONGRATS! :cheer2: I hope you have a wonderful trip! :wizard:
