I've tried all the mods except that one! Everytime I think about it, I think of sharing buses and how Im not a big fan of New Orleans themeing and the pics of the food court look like a high school gymnasium with scary faces all over it! Can someone make me think otherwise?! Im not the type to change resorts if I don't like it, so I'd just stick it out and deal with it, I think that makes me extra nervous about the plunge.

Then don't try it. Maybe just take a short visit there. I don't like the way it looks either. I didn't like the looks of POP and I kept ruminating over it, and changed to CSR...and feel much better. Do what feels right, its your vacation!

It was just okay as Dixie Landings, so I havent been able to sell myself on it either. So much so that I have yet to sell myself on POR, just because of its likeness to POFQ.

Loved CBR and CSR though.

I understand your resort angst!! I've only stayed at values and I love them! To me they are truly disney! I'm afraid I will miss them if I stay somewhere else, but it looks like Pop Warner is going to be around the same time as my next scheduled visit and I have wanted to try CBR, so I guess that decision is made for me!!!

I know a lot of people will say......ewww values :scared: but to each their own! If money was no object I would try the Poly, but it is, so I'm just happy to be going to Disney period!

I too want to stay at all the resorts, but I just can't get into Port Orleans FQ. The decor and location are real put offs for me. Also, the fact they no longer have a full service restaurant is disappointing.
I've been to the resort a couple of times, and even though I try to convince myself to try it, I really don't want to.
Thank goodness Disney has many hotel choices these days to appeal to all tastes. :)

Actually, I know that I was thinking about POFQ (or at least looking at the pictures of it) and was put off by, of all things, the bedspreads! I'm sorry, but the ones I saw were an eyesore!! (IMHO)

That sounds so silly!!!

To each their own indeed! POFQ is a beautiful resort. I hope you enjoy whatever you choose! :)

I agree! We tried POFQ in August '07 and liked it so much we're returning in February '08. I'm glad WDW has many resorts to choose from.

No, I felt the same way! The double sinks were ugly to me as well. I've seen two versions, one way was built in and greenish (looked ok), and one was two pedestal sinks which I thought was hideous. Not sure which one is the post rehab look though. And to think, I want to visit New Orleans...perhaps I wouldn't like it!

I'm glad someone understands!!! I must confess, I wasn't crazy about those sinks either!!! (I just didn't want to say so!!) :goodvibes

We stayed at POFQ last Nov/Dec and loved it! We are planning on going back Nov/Dec of 08 and do not want to stay any where else.

You stayed at POR so you know about the buses, but since POFQ gets picked up first and dropped first it's no big deal. The size is so compact and it is a short walk to POR for a full service restaurant. I would rather eat at POFQ food court than POR, we did that one morning and we were so sorry we did!

As others have said stay where you want, its your vacation!

I understand. There are certain resorts I can't seem to get interested in. I would just go where you want to - its your money and your vacation. We visited POFQ and thought it was very nice but my sister stayed there and said it was "ok". So to each his/her own. Enjoy your vacay wherever you may stay. Disney had many choices....too many for me I can't decide to save myself. :rotfl: Happy Planning.

We've stayed at POFQ twice LOVED it!! We missed it so much this year that we went & had lunch there! We love it because it's so quiet & small! We liked CSR just fine, but I missed POFQ!!

Regarding the busses...since PP said that POFQ is the first pick up & drop off, there is only the one stop at POFQ. Then there are 4 at POR. So since at CSR & CBR the busses stop at 4-5 other stops within the resort, we found it was no difference at all (bus wise).

Enjoy your trip wherever you decide to stay! Mickey will just be happy you're there!! :mickeyjum

Only four stops at CSR and 7 at CBR. The big difference seems to be that less people use the CSR stop because its a convention resort. The queues never seem to be as big as POR/POFQ.

I've stayed at POFQ twice, the second time this past October. I like that it's a small resort, easy to get to the food court and bus stop. Maybe I didn't pay attention but I didn't notice any scary faces in the food court, didn't look like a gym to me. My room looked like it was recently renovated and looked very nice.

We have stayed at the SWAN,POFQ,POR,And the BC. All in all we have decided to return to the POFQ. Not everone likes the same resort, that is why disney has so many choices. But for us we really enjoyed the FQ and thought it had tons of disney charm!;)

Personally we love POFQ the best. After staying at all the moderates, FQ is by far our favorite. It is smaller than the others, the food court is the best we've tried, the boat to Downtown Disney is convenient and much better than taking the bus. The resort is beautiful and more laid back maybe not as much, theming as the other resorts. We have never had a problem with the buses when staying there. If the bus is full at FQ they don't even go over to Riverside if there are seats available on the bus they will. Also, FQ is the first stop when returning from the parks.

I thought that I would not like POFQ either until we visited it one
day while staying at POR and fell in love with it's Charm.

I found the resort very Romantic--love the ironwork, the colors and shapes
of the buildings. This resort looks like a blend of New Orleans and Paris in the Aristocats Movie.

We are very Excited about staying there on our next
trip. The Hot Tub is the best out of all the Mods we've stayed at.
Whenever we ate at the Food Court I didn't even really look at the large faces--the food was so good.
The CMs working in the areas we visited were very Friendly.

The one resort that I am hesitant to Stay at is CBR-the colors make my
stomach feel quesy--I might have to make a visit just like I did with POFQ
to change my Mind.

Go with your gut and pick what feels right to you! I was worried about which resort we were staying in last trip, and changed our reservation three times before making up my mind. But I was sooo glad I did! :thumbsup2
