I Just Booked Swan for $175, Teacher's Rate, March 2 -12 2006

It's a little higher than past years and I still expect to do better later on, but I'll be satisfied if this is what we end up with. We've got POR @ $148 on the AAA rate but we'll let that one go as soon as my daughter confirms that she's in with us on the Swan as I booked 2 rooms and one's for her, SIL and grandkids. BTW, this did not show up on DreamsUnlimited the last I looked, I found it on the SWANDOLPHIN.COM site then called to reserve it with a human. The problem is that on the web site it doesn't specifically say Teacher on the drop-down box for special promotions, only Government Employee. It's the same thing, and I have booked online in the past then called later to verify that teachers qualify, I was just being cautious this time.
Also, for Starwood members, I have points that I thought I'd lose because we were last there this Jan. and more than 1 year would elapse before our March 2006 trip, but the agent said they'd be restored when I check in next year. Great news all around. It seems that the super low rates of $149 and under aren't released until about a month or two before so I'll be hunting for bargains up to the last moment.

I'm still at $175 but still confident I'll get some of it for less. A co-worker of mine booked Swan for $155 in late June/Early July and I think he said the AAA rate was less than the Teacher/Nurse/Gov. rate so if you're a member you might want to check that out on the DU site and SPG.COM.

Yeah...I've been looking nearly every day for the differences in rates. If AAA is less for our date we'll end up switching to that rate. I hope it comes through. I miss the days where we could get Swan/Dolphin for $129/$139!
