I just booked and had discount with my name!!!

I just got off the phone with Disney and I finally did it. I booked 6 nights at POP with 6day base tickets and the dining plan. I asked the CM if there were any discounts with my name and there was!!! I got a $59.00 per night rate at POP applied to the package. I put the deposit down and my balance is due on April 20. I am so excited. I had put off calling and today I decided to just bite the bullet and DO it. I am so glad I did. I am saving around $280.00. It doesn't sound like much but every little bit helps. What does everybody think? Is this a good deal? We have never stayed on property and have only been in 1995 for 2 days and in 2002 for 3 days. Myself, dh and ds16 are going. Please reassure me I've done a GOOD thing!!

YOU DID A GOOD THING!!! I don't know when your trip is, but that is a good rate, and I think you will like being on property. I have not stayed at the POP but at other value resorts, and they are fun and for the money (by disney standards) I think a pretty good deal.

Do you mean you just called Disney, gave them you're name and asked if there was a discounted code that just pops up next to you're name?

That is awesome. We are staying at POP from the 4-10th of June and paying rack rate (99 plus tax) for our room so I sure wish we had the code, consider yourself lucky/fortunate. Maybe I'll get one next year : )

When you call, just ask if there are any codes attached to your name. It is that easy, the CM's are used to it. You won't sound stupid.
Good luck, I never have any but I have a feeling it is because I go so often. They know I will be back with or without a discount. Not sure if that is the case for sure.

Hmm...just called twice 2 different CM's about 2 different resorts and when I asked about a code with my name, both said it was for AP holders and FL residents. Bummer.

We saved $115.00 from the rack rate, at the Poly. They also, had good savings at FWC, OKW and SS. But, I picked the Poly, for my daughter. She has always wanted to try the Poly.

The CM updated my information that WDW has on me, and was able to pull up a code (discount) that I could use for my request at a deluxe resort. To say, "I was surprised", would be an understatement. We like to try a resort that we never have stayed at, on our last night. This way, we can get an idea if it's a place we would like to go back to.

So, thanks for the info, on calling reservations, to see if we could get a discount.
