I just baked about 6 dozen cookies for a family gathering we're having tomorrow night and I haven't eaten any!!!! This is a major accomplishment for me, usually I have to try at least 1 cookie from every batch coming out of the oven. This is the first time I have baked something that wasn't an Atkins bake mix since June and I wasn't sure I'd be able to not eat any but my will power held.

WOW ! Way to go Cheryl!

I know how you feel - I avoided birthday cake at work yesterday --- but I think actually baking would be much tougher

Onward and Downward!!

Congratulations, Cheryl! I know first hand how difficult that is, good for you.

Good for you for having the will power that you needed to pull that one off. Keep up the great work.

"CHERYL'S cookies!!!!"

:teeth: like that's original!!

Seriously, good for you!!!! I have not baked near as much for my poor deprived children and husband b/c it's soooo hard! I have a pack of break-n-bakes in the frig to make for them and haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet, and that's yukky pre-packaged preservative-filled cookie dough!!

I'm very proud of you. I will remember you this weekend when I bake those darn halloween cookies for my neglected family ;)

I hope I can do as well as you did. I have to bake lots of cookies today for a halloween party this weekend. I have already resisted the candy I put in the pinata and the guess how many pieces jar. The party itself will be the real test, all that unhealthy food. Wish me luck and good luck to you at your family gathering.:D

DS(9) has to write a page, every day, for school. The piece that really got to me was "I remember baking w/ Mom". We used to bake Banana Chocolate Chip loaf frequently. (In fact, it may be one of the prime reasons I'm overweight) Since I've been on South Beach, I hadn't baked, at all. DS's writing piece ended with "I can't wait until my Mom goes off her diet, so we can bake together again!" I tried to sit with him and explain that while my diet will change as I reach different goals, we were never going back to baking 2-3 per week and eating quick bread for breakfast. We then baked one loaf, which he & his brother ate. We had a chance to bake again for DS(16)'s bake sale, but I removed a portion for DS(9). Its been hard for both DSs, but I hope they are learning about healthier eating habits.

Good for you!! :jumping1:

Ain't it a great feeling, knowing you can resist something like that?!! I'm going to bake cookies next week, and I'm praying I can resist too!! :teeth:

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc Way to stay strong Cheryl!!!! It's hard while you're doing it, but after it's over, doesn't it make you feel great?? I love knowing that I'm in control of the food, instead of letting the food be in control of me!!!:D

Way to go!! I made Halloween cupcakes for my dd to give to her daycare sitter & speech dr, and didn't eat one either! However, I must admit, I licked the cake batter spoon (which is the best part! ), and had 1 spoon of icing! :duck: But, I survived, and managed to lose 5.2 lbs at my WW weigh-in last night!

We just have to keep up the positive WISH vibes... :sunny:
