I heard there was a new Ice cream/candy shop on the Dream

Does anyone know if that means there will no longer be free ice cream on deck? I understand that the new shop is for purchase, not included in the cruise.

The free soft serve is still there and we got Mickey bars in the dining rooms and room service

Yes, there is still free ice cream (it is soft serve) Vannellopes sells candy and gelato from what I have heard from cruisers.
And Mickey Bars too are still free.

Hubby tried two different flavors of the gelato while we were on the Dream recently. It is delicious - handmade. Very much worth the $2.95 cost.

We just returned from our 5 day, 4 night cruise on the Disney Dream and they had ice cream soft serve stations on the ship as well as on Castaway Cay. All free.
Dinner includes the Mickey ice cream bar for free.

I've not had it straight from Italy but that's what it's supposed to be. It's made onboard.

I've only been to Italy once and that was my honeymoon 10 years ago. Assuming I remember correctly, this is pretty similar. It also had the amazing presentation.

Furthermore, I had gelato and DD had ice cream. I thought the gelato was significantly better. So, I think the extra 50 cents a serving is worth it if you're in there.
