But I have a quick question....10 yrs ago we could use our room keys as "credit cards" throughout the Disney property.... Can you still do that or have things changed?

Nope things haven't changed. It's still all the same. Your Disney "keys" to the world. Don't forget just as the pp said. Disney loves your $$$$$ money. They want to make it so easy for you to blow big bucks in those parks.

Thanks...I remember it being easy to "spend money" on the key cards. Last time I was there, I had just turned 21 and at one I went to a bar with my family on St.Pattys day. Upon check out at the CBR...my Dad got the bill(s) from the key cards. He shouts, "Who ordered 12 shots of Jagermesiter???????" ...apparently I had "bought" a round at JellyRolls w/ my key card.....ooooppppps......
