I am still not quite ready to go back to San Angel after two poor experiences but each time I see a review I get a step closer! Not sure we will even consider it with F&W. Hoping to do some of the events so probably no full meals in EPCOT. I do love that avocado margarita though!
I seem to recall from the live thread that they temporarily quit serving the avocado margarita at La Cava during the F & W Festival last year. So if you are in the area and happen to think of it, please check it out and let me know what you find out.
This report just makes me hungry! I am definitely going to try an avocado margarita in the summer
Sounds like a great plan to me, Jeanette! Let me know what you think of it.
I think I would enjoy SAI as your food looks delicious and my kid (it is just the two of us this trip) would love to wave at people riding the Gran Fiesta but I just looked at the kid's menu...it is terrible with a quesadilla as the only "Mexican" food item. Boooo!
I don't think I have posted in your trip report yet...happy belated birthday! I spent my birthday last Halloween at WDW and it was a blast!
Hello and thanks for the birthday wishes!
The latest kids menu I could find on my live thread was from Oct. '13, sent in by Riles_and_Gabe. It does show a few other basic Mexican food options other than the quesadilla so I thought it might be of interest to you...
What a beautiful review and I know the company was even better. I am going to have to give Jiko another try some day. We had a bad experience 3 years ago, however your pictures and reviews have me convinced to go back another for another try
Thanks Lori! Hey, when is that baby due, it has to be very, very soon?
After my previous two visits to Jiko (last in May 2012), I really wasn't in any hurry to return. But I was a late addition to Paula & Brenda's party and they already had all of their dining plans set, which included dinner at Jiko. So I decided to just "go with the flow" on this one and give it another try. I'm very glad that I did because, except for dessert (which was free anyway), I really enjoyed the food that I had here this time.
Ok, the smokehouse kiosk looks amazing. I'm now very interested to see what Paula has to say about those cupcakes
Though I only tried a couple of things at this year's festival booths, last year we tried several things and the Smokehouse brisket was definitely one of our favorites.

We also had the pulled pork slider last year, but got a really salty batch and didn't like it. I wanted to give it another try this year, but sadly I never got back there.
Lovely meal at Yiko and even better with friends to dine with, lots of birthday and anniversary desserts too! ... Enjoying your reviews on each restaurant : )
Wondering between Yiko and Sanaa ... Do you have a favorite? Different price point but curious
I'm probably not the best person to answer this question, as I've only been to Sanaa one time (in May 2011) and didn't really have a good first experience. I did have the perfect opportunity to make a return visit to Sanaa on this trip, as Paula & Hunter invited me to join them when they had lunch there. I decided to head to Raglan Road for Sunday brunch though. I do know that they really enjoyed their lunch there, which I think they just had appetizers.
But to answer you question, given my limited experience, I would say that Jiko is definitely my favorite of the three AKL restaurants.
All your meals are looking so good. The bad thing about reading reviews is that it makes you give your ADRs a second thought. I have changed so many of ours around its crazy. I think I am going to try to get to San Angel though. I like the idea of seeing if a walk up is open to get out of the heat. I don't think the DH would complain to much about appetizers, margaritas, and air conditioning.
I think a visit to SAI is a great way to take a break from the Florida heat. Let me know how it goes.
Oh I love Jiko!
And your food looks amazing!
Also - I love that some of my favourite DiS people are featured or mentioned in that review!
Hi Shari! Yes, the food and company at Jiko were great. If only our server had been better, this meal would have probably been among my favorites of the trip. Oddly enough, during my last visit to Jiko, the service was outstanding but my entree was not so good.
We are in La Hacienda Monday October 27 at 7:30.
Jiko looks so good. I have had monkfish many times and loved it every time. The last few trips we have gone to Jiko for Wine Wednesdays. We will do that in October as well. But I miss dinner. Going to have to go back soon.
Monday, Oct. 27 sounds perfect, thanks Niki!
