I haven't been this excited about my birthday since I turned 21! COMPLETE

On Monday morning I headed downstairs to the Wilderness Lodge's quick service restaurant...

An interesting fishing-themed display case inside Roaring Fork...

When I stayed at the lodge back in March 2013, I had my first-ever Mickey waffle from Roaring Fork..but, it wasn't just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill plain Mickey waffle. ;) Roaring Fork serves up some super-deluxe models of Mickey waffles, with three different options.

You can have your waffles topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream...

The Adult portion includes three waffles plus bacon for $7.79.

Or for chocolate lovers, there are waffles topped with chocolate chips, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce...

This is the Kid's Meal, which comes with two waffles and two slices of bacon plus applesauce and a small drink, all for $4.99. :thumbsup2

And then there is my choice...

Bananas Foster Waffles topped with warm bananas in a buttered-rum flavored sauce

I got the Kid's portion of two waffles plus bacon but skipped the applesauce. It also came with a small drink, which I chose a small bottle of water. This plus a $2.39 cup of coffee came to a total of only $7.86 including tax. :thumbsup2

I love these waffles...they are soooo good! ::yes:: I had hoped that I could get back to Roaring Fork a second time for breakfast during my stay at the Wilderness Lodge so that I could try the strawberry waffles but sadly I never did. I did return one evening though to get a drink and took a few more display case and menu photos...

Nothing in the display case seemed to be calling my name, so I left with only the drink that I originally came for. ;)

Next up: Snack from Sunshine Seasons

Thank you so much. That does help as that is now what we are planning to get. It was your December reviews that have lead to us trying FF.

I hope you have a great meal there...Flying Fish is one of my favorite Disney restaurants. :thumbsup2

Joining in a bit late...Happy belated birthday Ms. Barb!
Bad form there Hunter...1st...the confetti "I HEART U" for your sweetheart...then the SWEET gift to Barb...yeah man...just keep raising the bar for us lowly, non-mushy husbands out there! ;)

Just booked WL for 9 nights this Christmas...it'll be our first stay there and I really didn't know much about it, but am in "intense" research mode now!

Great pics Barb!...keep em coming! :thumbsup2

Subscribing! Hello from a fellow central Illinoisan :) Love your reviews and that you stayed at Wl, which we are hoping to do next time. We were actually at Disney at the same time, arriving on 4/26

I just had breakfast, but those Banana Fosters waffles are still making me drool!

Really enjoying you report Barb. We can't wait to try the new CG this summer and although we're not at the WL this year, I'll be making a special trip for the waffles one morning :D

Excellent trip report :-) I am just going to attempt to squeeze raglan road into our trip plans for September, just for the pudding!!

Your CG meal looked so lovely, company and food, what a great way to celebrate your birthday.

The waffles at roaring fork look so good. I wish all resorts CS would offer a variety like that, but on the flip side I like that resorts have unique items.

I ended up making a ressie for Ragland Road. We will be at POR so it's not like it will be hard to get too. And with 3 small kids we like loud places with entertainment.

So funny about Raglan Road, it's so hard to deviate from your favorites, huh? It's even worse if the substitute dish isn't good! That bread pudding looks amazing though.

Great photos from CA Grill. I'm so looking forward to trying that restaurant in October.

Mickey waffles + bananas foster .... oh my YUM!!!!!

I would get the kids waffles too, looks yummy and the right size. Loving your report : )

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there! :goodvibes

I have just a short snack review to add to my report today. On Monday morning, April 28th I headed to Epcot with Paula and Hunter. One of our FP+ was for Soarin', which put us in very close proximity to...

One of my favorite Disney World breakfast snacks is dished out at Sunshine Seasons each and every morning...

Berry Croissant Pudding

So even though I was still pretty full from the Mickey waffles I had had earlier, I could not pass up the opportunity to have this delicious treat...

A close-up view

It had been more than a year since I last had the croissant pudding, as regretfully I missed out on having it during my last trip in December. :sad2: So I'm not sure if this was a case of "absence makes the heart grow fonder" or if this was an especially good batch of croissant pudding, but this tasted even better than I remembered. I had originally intended to have only a bite and then give the rest to Paula and Hunter, who, unlike me, hadn't already had breakfast. ;) However, the croissants were so buttery and the blueberries so sweet and delicious that I couldn't stop myself from eating at least half of this.

The Berry Croissant Pudding has definitely earned a spot on my "Must Have Every Trip" list. An early morning flight on Soarin' followed by a cupful of the delicious Sunshine Seasons' croissant pudding...this was surely a match made in Disney heaven. :cloud9:

Hi buckeev! :wave2: Thanks for joining in! You are only "fashionably" late to this party, as I have barely scratched the surface of the "embarrassingly" large amount of Disney food that I photographed in just one week's time. And I will certainly not hold it against you that you are of the "non-mushy" variety of husbands, as my husband is not always Prince Charming either. ;)

I bet you will love the Wilderness Lodge. It is especially gorgeous at Christmas time. Here are a few photos from my December trip...

The WL Christmas tree is IMO the most beautiful of all the resort trees...

I love the Native American-themed ornaments which adorn the tree...

Thanks neighbor! :goodvibes Did you fly out of the Bloomington airport on Frontier? If so, then we came within one day of being on the same plane.

Thanks Jeanette! So what resort are you staying at on your upcoming trip?

Excellent trip report :-) I am just going to attempt to squeeze raglan road into our trip plans for September, just for the pudding!!

Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying my report. And I hope you are able to squeeze in a visit to Raglan Road. I think their bread pudding alone makes it worth a visit. :thumbsup2

I don't think you will be disappointed with your decision to add Raglan Road to your dining plans, Farrah. I bet your kids will enjoy the entertainment. :thumbsup2

The waffles from Roaring Forks look excellent. Just wondering how you found the crowds at breakfast time?

The crowds weren't bad at all, Rachel. I believe there was a separate line for the waffle counter and it was very short, I think only one person in front of me. I remember there being at least three (but maybe even four) cash registers set up so it didn't take long at all to get checked out. The CM noticed that I didn't have a small drink on my tray (which apparently is included with the Kid's meal) and suggested that I grab a small bottle of water (which I happily did). I had this same meal in December but nothing was said to me about it including a drink, so I was grateful to this friendly CM for mentioning it to me. :thumbsup2 Also, though I took my breakfast tray up to my room, I noticed that there were plenty of empty tables in the attached dining room as well as some tables outside, if you like to catch a few rays while eating your breakfast. ;)

So funny about Raglan Road, it's so hard to deviate from your favorites, huh? It's even worse if the substitute dish isn't good! That bread pudding looks amazing though.

Mickey waffles + bananas foster .... oh my YUM!!!!!

Yes, and it didn't help that the man at the (very close) table next to me had the fish and chips and they looked and smelled wonderful.

I hope you have a great dinner at CA Grill and yes, I totally agree with you, Tania...

Mickey waffles + bananas foster = Another perfect match made in heaven! :cloud9:

I would get the kids waffles too, looks yummy and the right size. Loving your report : )

Thanks for reading, disney meema! :)

Hi Barb - I, too, am a bit late to the Party. Been reading, just not commenting. First I have to ay that I have had the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli at Cali twice and absolutely love it both time. Not sure if they have changed the recipe with the renovation? :confused3

I have yet to try that berry bread pudding but I am hoping our September trip will be the one that rectifies this! It always looks sooooo good when I see it!

Looking forward to the rest!

We actually drove this time. We loved having a car and driving to the parks, but that was a long haul. Not sure what we will do next time.

Hi Barb,
Great review so far. I haven't really been following stuff since my Sept trip as I always take a couple months off from Disney related things after every trip to recharge and then work has been crazy this year. Jealous that you and others have gotten to take several trips since my last trip LOL. But Luanne and I just made ADRs for a trip in late Oct. Then Luanne and her sister have a trip planned in Nov. Then I will taking my mom for her first ever visit (at age 72) in December and we will be joined by my sister and her family and my brother (also his first ever visit) and his lady friend and her daughter (also their first visit) so that should be a great time.
Looking forward to seeing more of your review.

Eric

Wow, the photos of the WL Christmas tree are gorgeous! I love the look of WL and we usually make time to visit each vacation but I can't seem to tear myself away from POFQ, lol. However, the photos of the awesome waffles available at Roaring Fork makes a stay there even more tempting!

I know a lot of people love the croissant berry pudding at Sunshine Seasons but DH and I tried it two years ago and were very underwhelmed. The serving we had was very dry, bland, and tasteless. I'm guessing we just got a bad batch? I might have to try it again sometime to compare.

Enjoying your reviews! :goodvibes

One of these days I really need to try the croissant breadpudding. I am not a huge fan of bread pudding in general but when I find one I love (like my own home made lol) I really love it. Next trip in October I have to get one.

I have made adrs for October but figure once our dismeet plans come in I will make some changes. You, or any one else are welcome to come with us to any ressies I have already made. So far I have Olivia's Cafe, La Hacienda, Il Mulino, Bluezoo, Chefs de France, Yak n Yeti and Restaurant Marrakesh. I have also purchased my tickets to the Swan & Dolphin Food and Wine Classic for October 31.

I just can't wait.

We are leaving in a few days for our trip and it will be our first time staying at Wilderness Lodge! I'm loving your reviews and can't wait to finally try the berry croissant pudding at Sunshine Seasons. After many, many trips I still haven't tried it but this trip it will be happening :thumbsup2

I've been drooling,,,,errr lurking. But after the berry croissant picture, I had to join in to say how yummy everything looks and what a terrific review!popcorn::

Oh Barb, I had fallen terribly behind with your reviews, but the bonus is that means I just had lots of yummy food pictures to drool over :goodvibes

We are trying Raglan Road for the first time in June, dinner not brunch though and I am hoping to save room for that bread and butter pudding :thumbsup2

What a wonderful dinner at CG with Paula and Hunter and a great way to spend your birthday. The broth with your ravioli does look a little watery though

Yummy waffles at my fave resort - we shall miss WL next trip

Looking forward to your next installment :goodvibes
