My MIL was with me when I toured Vero. Sun Dec 2nd was an unofficial tour - my MIL and I walked around the grounds, saw the croc in front of the resort and the welcome home
DVC members sign. Took pic of the Christmas tree, shopped, bought 3 DVC t-shirts (my husband, son and myself) for Christmas, saw the pool and slide, checked out the activities board, went through the Green Cabin room to take a pic from the balcony, saw where they have the campfire, found the beach, etc. MIL found the hidden mickey's in the orange trees. Made the pressed pennies. We thought it was quite nice.
However, the DVC booth is only open Tues-Sat. We were on our cruise to Key West & Cozumel Mon-Fri so we HAD to go back the following Sat Dec 8th before I flew back home Dec 9th. I called ahead so they expected us. They were having open house at one of the beach cottages. My MIL & I went over and checked it out. Then we went back to the DVC booth and went on an official tour. The CM took us into the studio, 1 bedroom and showed us how Vero rooms connect to make the 2 bedroom. Then she took us to the Inn and showed us an Inn room. I asked about Sonya's so we went through the character breakfast, I said hi to Goofy and we spoke with the lady at Sonya's about the dress code. We also took a pic of the mileage sign.
My "home resort" is Wilderness Lodge. We spent 9 nights courtyard view at WL in Oct.
P.S. Some of the pictures I took on our cruise did not come out but the Vero Beach ones did. Guess I was meant to buy into DVC.
