Our party will consist of myself, my husband, our 3 daughters, 4, 13 & 14 my father and his wife. This will be our youngest daughters first real trip! Looking to make it extra magical for her, without boring the life out of our older girls lol

Here's my list -

AKL - Sanaa (Dinner)

Beach Club - Cape May Cafe (Character Breakfast & Dinner)

Boardwalk - Trattoria al Forno (Character Breakfast)

Contemporary - Chef Mickey’s (Character Breakfast & Dinner)

Contemporary - Wave… Of American Flavors (Dinner)

Fort Wilderness - Hoop De Doo Review

Grand Floridian - 1900 Park Faire (Character Dinner)

What would you get rid of??

I have only eaten at the wave and sanaa so I can’t fully comment, but I’ll
compare similar restaurants and give my picks.

Sana’a v. The Wave: I would get rid of the wave. It is delicious but may not be too exciting for your girls. Sana’a is wonderful and you get animal viewing.

Cape May v. Chef Mickeys: Similar characters so I would choose whichever works best for your plans, but Tusker House is good and similar characters and you wouldn’t have to leave the park.

Trattoria v. 1900: I have not done either but trattoria would be my pick. I would just choose based on which set of characters appeal most to your group.

Hoop de doo: haven’t done this but I think it would be great for your group based on what I have read about it.

Where are you staying?

^this is key.

Also, will you have your own car? If not, I would only do locations you can easily get to from the park you will be at that day (or restaurants at your own hotel), otherwise you will waste too much time on transportation.

Do you want opinions on keeping or nixing? Your title says nix. The poll says keep.
I voted to keep

Staying at the Beach Club. I don't think we will have a car.

I would get rid of the Wave, with 3 kids, this may be a little underwhelming to them compared to the other restaurants.

I would drop Chef Mickey's because it is too similar to Cape May and I think the food is better at Cape May.

I would drop Hoop de Doo because it's never interested me.

And I would drop Wave because it doesn't seem worth it to go out of my way to get to.

1900 park fare is great. good characters too that I think your older ones will enjoy.

Monica9, is dinner at Park Fare better than their breakfast? (We thought the bkfst here was one of the worst on our last trip.) Ty!

Actually, now that I look at her poll, I didn't realize it was dinner she was talking about. I personally have only been to the breakfast and actually enjoyed it! It was back in 2015. Maybe a new chef? The food was fine and like any other buffet food there but I liked the character interaction. I liked having the "real person" characters that talk and interact vs the costume characters.

What would you get rid of??

I would get rid of Cape May dinner (lackluster food and atmosphere), The Wave (good food but will most likely be boring for your kids) and Chef Mickey's (food is terrible). Keep Sanaa (great food and atmosphere), Cape May breakfast (super convenient in your hotel), Hoop de Doo (lots of fun) and 1900 dinner.

The breakfast buffet at 1900 Park fare is fabulous, but I didn’t love the food for dinner.

Still, last month, I made a dinner ADR for a relative and his family because I knew his kids would love the characters. All of them loved it. Said both the food and characters were “phenomenal” which was their word. Told me the bread pudding was better than Ohana’s.

Overall, I like @Nancyg56’s picks.

I missed that the OP wanted resort meals and added a few park dinners.

OP- I also like 'Ohana for breakfast. Lilo and Stitch are so cute!

With kids I would pick Hoop and character meals. For the best food I'd pick Sanaa and Wave.
