I Have To Fly On July 4th

I hate to fly . . .but I decided I'm flying again . . .we are scheduled to fly July 4th . . .I would hope that we'd be very tight with security on our Independence Day . . .I don't even want to think about the warnings that I read about . . .My DH, says not to worry about it . . .BUT, I can't help it . . .

I need encouragement . . .I'm so looking forward to this trip . . .

... most people fly the day before or the day after major holidays. You are likely to have the place practically all to yourselves.

For that reason, I really don't think it is at ALL likely that any kind of attack would target an airline on that day. If any kind of attack came on the 4th, it would probably be at a public celebration of some sort. Besides, I'm of the opinion that using a plane as a missile is no longer a viable strategy for terrorists in the US. We are onto that one now, it was kind of a one-trick pony as attack strategies go, I think.

We are traveling on the 4th also...and my sister freaked me out too! I honestly hadn't thought about the holiday, per say, just that it gave us 1 weekday extra w/out using a vacation day from work. It is a bit unsettling to me, especially since it will be my first post 9/11 flight What warnings have you read? I guess I feel pretty safe and any fears I have would probably be for any flight,not just on 7/4. I hope we see some upbeat responses!

We are flying out of Orlando on July 5th. I feel safer on an airplane then in a car. Check out the statistics, the chances of being in an accident are "MUCH GREATER" in a car then an airplane!!!!!!!!!!
