BACKGROUND
originally THIS was going to be my general itinerary…
April 12th:
-flight lands at 8:10am
-check into pop century
-unpack and take a nap
-swim
-go to DTD for dinner

april 13th:
-go to MK from RD to about 7pm

april 14th:
-epcot from morning EMH until illuminations ends

april 15th:
-HS from RD to about 2pm
-Go back to pop century to swim and relax
-Go to DTD for dinner

April 16th:
-Sleep in and be out of my room by 11am
-Grab something to eat at pop century and then wait for my DME time which would probably be around 12:30pm since my flight is at 3:30pm

NOW due to finding out that jungle cruise will be closing for refurb starting april 13th I decided to add another day to my ticket which then gives me another day free cuz a promo they have right now is buy 4 days and get the 5th day free.

so now I’m gonna go to MK on april 12th for at least a few hours instead of relaxing.
AND on my departure I am thinking about heading to HS again just to go on TOT one last time instead of sleeping in. should I even try or not?

Also should I keep my original itinerary intact for the 13th, 14th, and 15th even though it would mean going to MK two days in a row and HS two days in a row?
If I change up the days what would you suggest?

It seems maybe you're like me and rather have some symmetry? Could you reverse your Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios days?

So it would look like:
Sun Magic Kingdom half day
Mon Hollywood Studios
Tues EPCOT emh
Wed Magic Kingdom
Thurs ToT before departure <-- I like the idea of riding this one last time. I would totally do it since you got the extra day free deal.

If you're adding another park day, why not hit AK and ride Expedition Everest? Also I would go ahead and do MK on your arrival afternoon/evening, but then call it an early day on Monday so you can have your DtD dinner. I'm a big fan of shorter park days.

I would consult a crowd calendar and let that inform what you choose for any given day. My favorite - and it has never steered us wrong - is Josh's easywdw.com

i'm not a fan of AK.
i only go once in a while.
the only thing i like there is kilimanjaro safari and dinosaur.

i know many people swear by crowd calendars but i'm more of a common sense and personal experiences type of person and i've never found crowd calendars to be accurate.
thats just me.

That happens to me all the time! I set an itinerary, I memerisize it, and visualize the days. Then something gets added to the schedule or taken away (like a refurbishment) and I wonder if I should tweak my itinerary to adapt to the change. I do that, and find many times when I make the adjustments, it actually turns out to be a better and more logically laid plan, BUT I don't want to adopt it because I'm USED to the old plan! :lmao: At least, I think that is why I prefer the old plan, I'm not sure. :confused3

BUT, I do know exactly what you're talking about! I find if I give it some more time to let the new plan sink in then it soon becomes my new favorite itinerary that I'm hesitant to change. :rotfl:

FWIW, if these were my plans I'd want to go for the switch because I wouldn't want to be in WDW for a whole 3 days before riding my beloved Tower of Terror!

Can you think of anything else that's making you unsure of switching?

actually yes... my dining plans.
i planned on going to earl of sandwich on my first night and last night.
i love the original 1762 so i'd get it both times.
i planned on going to DTD on my HS day since i'll be leaving there early.
so now i'd eat earl of sandwich two nights in a row instead of spreading it out.

also with MK i figure i'll eat at cosmic ray's for lunch on my arrival day but then i also planned on eating there for dinner on my full day there (hoping for a BOG FP for lunch on my full MK day).
so if i stick with my old plan i'd be eating at cosmic ray's two days in a row.

so i guess either way i look at it i'm gonna eat at the same place two days in a row.

now that i think about it though i am more willing to eat earl of sandwich twice in a row rather than cosmic ray's twice in a row.

Eating at the same restaurants 2 days in a row would bother me too. On the other hand... I read nothing but fantastic things about EoS when I was planning my visit. I just knew I'd love it, so I scheduled it twice. Then just a few months before we left I found out that I couldn't eat eat gluten anymore. :sad1: So EoS was out. So I'm not sure you're going to get much sympathy from someone who would love to eat there but can't at all. In other words, I'm envious of your problem. ;)

Anyways, I'm guessing you don't want to give EPCOT EMH? If that's the case, then the only other options I see are picking different restaurants. Like Columbia Harbor House for your MK dinner or Cookes of Dublin/Wolfgang Puck Express for your second trek to DTD. All of those places are highly rated CS spots.
