I am in total shock right now. We are DVC members and get to the world about 2 times a year for shorter trips now as our kids are 16, 12 and 9 and have a harder time missing school and are very involved in sports and activities so it is hard to get away. My husband and I have done a few trips with just the two of us but realize that it will be a while before we can do that again as my parents are older now and it is hard for them to change their schedules to watch the children. Well... we are going to Disney the first week of November to celebrate our DD12's 13th birthday and she is bringing her best friend and we are meeting friends there so it is going to be a very busy week.
Well...a few weeks ago I was saying to my husband as we went for a walk that I wish we lived closer to Disney. I would love to be able to just take my AP and go for my walk there, or just casually walk around and take pictures, or just sit on a park bench and watch people for a while. Or schedule is always busy and full when we go and it would really be nice to live close enough to be able to do that.
Well....last night he gave me a card that says next week he has me booked on a flight and has three nights book at the Beach Club (my favorite) so I can just get away for a few days and walk and take pictures and people watch. And he will work from home so he can take care of the kids.
I am still in shock and very excited and a little nervous about a solo trip. Can anyone that has taken a solo trip give any advice? Thank you and I am going to go jump up and down some more!!!!!
