And if you knew me, you'd know how rare this is!

My doctor put me on Effexor (which works great, btw) and blood pressure medication (unfortunately). Since my blood pressure and weight are up, I decided to try and make some changes. Besides cutting out salt, I drastically decreased my caffeine by cutting out my 3 cups of daily coffee, and am drinking much more water.

I also decided to cut out "white" carbohydrates to try to lose weight. I am a carbo addict, so I didn't think I could do it. I promised myself if it got too difficult, I could eat them. But, I haven't had any white flour, sugar or potatoes since Tuesday.

And I've noticed I have more energy and no headaches in the afternoon!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Haven't lost any weight, and I'll find out next week how my blood pressure is doing. But even if I don't lose weight, it's still worth it.

That is great! Want to come over and clean my house. I promise you can throw away anything that you think I don't need to keep!:p

Maybe it is cutting the carbs!!! For up to 25% of Americans, the way they metabolize these processed carbs is not right. Creating insulin resistance. This is why so many people do well on the much maligned low-carb diets! My sister went low-carb, on her doctors advice, due to her blood sugar. Still eats as much low carb foods as she wants, and immediately lost 30 pounds!!

Wishing on a star --

If I could immediately lose 30 pounds, there'd be a lot of pink bounces at the end of my post!! But, it has been less than a week.

From what I've read, processed carbohydrates convert quickly to sugar, so I might have been unintentionally having blood sugar crashes. My doctor tells me my blood sugar is normal (knock wood!)

Hey, maybe I'll clean MY house!
