I have my Red Card and Pharmacy rewards - but no Disney trip planned

Yep, I total bummer:( next they will classify the Disney gift cards as gift cards & the 5% Red Card won't work either.

You can still get your Red Card 5% off of "entertainment cards" which Disney gift cards fall in that category. But as others have said the Pharmacy Rewards are no longer valid on "entertainment cards".

I think those coupons are still going to stack but gift cards will be excluded :(

Yes this is correct. The Pharmacy Rewards can be used with the Red Cards but now the Pharmacy Rewards is not valid for any gift cards. I used both discounts on my grocery purchase tonight. Although silly me I forgot to use the $10 off of $50 food and beverage text coupon.

Yea, I can see that change coming on the horizon.

In February and early March, bought all I needed for my June trip. So I was lucky and did get both the Red Card and the Pharmacy Rewards discount. I had the feeling that this would end soon. So I was happy to see that they worked back then.

Last night I went to buy some gift cards for a friend and her son joining us on our next trip and was bummed to find out about the change. But at least I was able to get her the 5% off.

I hope they keep the Disney gift cards in the entertainment category so the Red Card still applies but I wouldn't be surprised if they changed that in the future.

I don't think it's a scam at all. People have been selling them for awhile on eBay, myself just this year.

I agree most selling them are probably not scamming. I guess you could consider it unethical because the card is non-transferable. If I was a buyer of the card on ebay or other type sites, I would be cautious. I would think that a Target store could deny you use of the card seeing that your name would not match the name on the card.

I too found out about selling the 5% off coupons on eBay from this board. We at first wondered if anyone could pull any personal info from the barcode on the coupon. We too thought that might be the scam, so we researched it, came up with nothing, and proceeded to list each reward certificate as they came in the mail to us. (Why not, right? Everyone else is doing it! And making sweet money!)

I have sold four or five of these things and found it strange that all buyers had Los Angeles area addresses. So I Googled the street address of the latest one that I sold. Well dang, I found out in a right quick hurry what the scam is! The street address (but not the name of the person I sent it to at that address) was listed in a lawsuit brought by a major wireless carrier. The individual and his ‘company’ at that address have people go out and bulk purchase mobile phones from Wal-Mart and Target. They then hack into the unit, making it ‘unlocked’, and sell them overseas. :( A judgment was entered against this company for $5 million.

So now we know what the scam is. Ummmm, I don’t think I want to be a part of that! I think I’ll just use my little coupon to buy some paper towels or gum at Target from now on.

I wonder what they are doing with the phones overseas?? Just regular people wanting an unlocked phone or does this somehow support terrorist operations. If it is the latter, I'd want no part of that either.

The people who are buying the rewards on ebay are the same people who buy thousands of dollars worth of electronics such as iPads and game systems that are on sale then sell them overseas for 5x the price. The cost of electronics in some foreign countries are ridiculous. They are the same people that try and use a wholesale tax exempt form as to not pay sales tax either.

Yep, I did some further due diligence and it definitely supports terrorist operations. Like, a huge multi-million dollar ring. Though there is nothing illegal about my little transactions, now that I know why these babies go for so much on the open market and what they are being used for in many cases, I think I will cease and desist with the selling! I sure will miss the sweet money from them, and I know it will not end terrorism, but I’m a patriot, dammit!

Oh yikes! Could we get in trouble for selling these coupons on Ebay? I sold one and now I'm wigged out about it. I thought that the buyer was probably just buying Disney gift cards like the rest of us on here did with our rewards. I'm freaked that my name was on that!

I do find it funny that so many on these boards assume that because they (& others on this board) use them to purchase Disney giftcards that everyone else does too. Have to say, I think we are the minority and that most people use the rewards for their daily grocery/household needs.

I have been randomly buying Disney gift cards for over a year now. Even before we had a trip planned because I know I'm going back someday. Plus I don't get them from target. I get them from local grocery store that gives me .10-.20 off a gallon of gas up to 30 gallons at a time, for every $50 of gc. its pass the 5% savings of target. 6-12% savings.

I just got my red card a week ago and in the "rules" it says it cannot be used for gift cards. ? Which is the whole reason why I got it in the first place. Maybe I'll give it a try anyways.

Gift cards at target are called entertainment cards so alot of them still apply to be able to get 5% off

Again, there is nothing illegal about the actual eBay transaction of you selling the coupon. And there is nothing illegal about any purchaser of said coupon using it to purchase electronics at Target. It is the next step that is illegal, and you are not connected to that next step.
