I have my Red Card and Pharmacy rewards - but no Disney trip planned

I hope it is not a scam. I posed one for sale and so far it is at 100 with a few days left. I checked out the profiles of the people who have bid on mine and I noticed that they are all power sellers. The person that has the highest bid on mine also has several Xboxes and gaming gift cards ( like a month of xbox live, ect) for sale. I think what most of these people are doing is taking the discount, stocking up on high dollar items that happen to be on sale and then reselling them at full price.

That actually makes sense. They're reselling these items so they figure that they'll make up the amount spent on the discount plus a profit. It's worth it to them to spend that much. The online code is just that a code and the card itself while it has your name appears to just be a coupon code. I doubt sincerely there is anything connecting you to your card. And name/address are public record, people don't need to spend 100 bucks when they can just go online.
The highest bidder on mine is not an ebay seller but that doesn't mean she/he doesn't resell elsewhere. These days there are other options.

I agree that I think people are buying them and then using them to buy expensive electronics which they then resell. My dh used our last pharmacy rewards coupon to buy his iPad Air.

We've never sold a pharmacy coupon but I wouldn't be fearful of doing so. I really don't think there is any way they could get any of your personal info other than your name.

I keep trying to figure out what the scam is with the pharmacy rewards card on ebay. Not a scam from the sellers perspective but the buyers. They all seem to be selling over $100, I just can't believe that so many people are making HUGE target purchases. Can they get any info other then your name from the coupon? Is it in any way possible it's linked to your info? (sounds far fetched but I can't come up with any reason otherwise). Has anyone been selling them for awhile and had no issues? I was at the Target Pharmacy yesterday and asked about it, thinking if it was a scam they might have heard something, but no one had ever heard of it!

I don't think it's a scam at all. People have been selling them for awhile on eBay, myself just this year.

That makes total sense. And if DIS'ers have been selling them with no issues for a while I'm jumping on that band wagon. Any ebay $ I make goes to our travel budget! Thanks friends!

FYI as of today 3/28 you can no longer combine and get 10% off gift cards. I tried and fortunately found a sympathetic manager. I got 2200 for 1980!

Yep, I total bummer:( next they will classify the Disney gift cards as gift cards & the 5% Red Card won't work either.

Please site your source for this policy change. I just checked Target's website and it still says "stack [pharmacy reward] with your everyday 5% Redcard discount for ultimate savings."

I think those coupons are still going to stack but gift cards will be excluded :(

I checked out the other threads and that appears to be the case. Interesting that Target hasn't changed their official policies online, that will cause a lot of problems for them I'm sure.

I also think they need to change the wording on the pharmacy coupon. Until people are receiving reward coupons that clearly exclude all gift cards (like the 10% coupon), they really should honor the ones that are out there. And I'm not saying this because I have one to use. I don't. I just think it's the right thing for them to do.

I double checked today and noticed the same thing. The wording on the rewards and the website say excludes Target gift cards. That reads to me that only Target store gift cards are excluded. If all gift cards are then it should say "gift cards" period. Going to be a lot of headache at stores if this is actual new official policy and they haven't bothered to change the wording.

I was there today and bought cards and was told both are no longer accepted. I guess you could say Target is my "source"

I took my own advice and sold my rewards coupons on ebay.

For those of you that have sold your coupons, did you cover your name that is on the coupon with marker or something or leave everything as is?

Mine sold within five minutes of listing. I did a BIN for $79.99. I guess I should have listed it for a little more.

By the way, I went on a stock up shopping trip - kitty litter, cleaning supplies, canned goods.....Stuff I'll use over the next three or four months.

Its a bummer about the non-stacking, but I figured it was a matter of time before Target figured they were losing money on that deal.

I covered the name in the photograph (I just used photoshop) but I left it as is when I shipped it. I figured Target might not take it if the name is altered. I got $150 for mine and I haven't sold in years so I was quite happy.
I wonder if not using it toward gift cards will matter to ebay sales? I'm thinking most of these people are actually buying electronics for resale instead but you never know.
