Will taking a multivitamen help me lose weight more easily? I started taking one on Sunday so I haven't even been taking it that long. It's not a multivit+ weightloss..it's just a regular multivit for women.

Hi - There are NO dumb questions.

There are no magic bullet pills that will really help you lose weight.

Taking the multi will help you make sure you get enough of the RDA of nutrients you need. This can be especially beneficial while losing weight because you are eating less than you normally do and therefore take in less nutrients. But they don't help you lose weight.

Thanks.
I'm not really "dieting" because I don't believe in diets. I've tried every single one out there..Scarsdale, Grapefruit, South Beach, Atkins..you name it I've tried it. And NONE of them have worked. At all.

So now I'm just trying to eat less of what I would eat normally and exercise more. :)

I just thought of another really dumb question.
Is there an amount of water that it is UNSAFE to drink?
I've been trying to get my 8 glasses a day and recently bought a big jug that holds 32 oz. I've found myself drinking 3-4 of those throughout the course of about 12-16 hrs and I wonder if that's TOO much water.

there is such a condition known as 'over-hydration' but to be honest i don't know much about it. i just know my cousin over-hydrated for a run event once and truly felt sick. i'm sure you can google it. how much depends on your body, your weight, etc?

there are NO dumb questions :thumbsup2

All the stuff I've read says you need to drink TONS of water all at once (like 3-4 L) to die of overhydration.

So I guess I'm cool there as long as I don't drink 3-4 jugs of water all at once.:thumbsup2

Yeah - when we did the 1/2 back in 2005 I got sick from the water I drank prior. I've learned I can't drink plain water before a race - but I do ok drinking gator-aid type drinks instead. Must be the balance of electrolytes that help.

Definately research and ask your daughter how much water is too much. I know there was a person in california who died from drinking a large amount of water during a game on a radio show - she was holding her urine too - so I know it can happen - but I"m sure if you work out and drink it over the entire day you will be fine. Listen to your body.
