I have how many food pix? Time for a dining review!! Completed!

Great start!! You've already posted two of my favorites - the bakery in France and the Boardwalk Bakery!! The ham and cheese croissant in France is actually one of my favorite lunches in all of Disney - a nice, lighter change from the heavy food found elsewhere.

What a great thread! I love your pics, thanks so much for sharing:worship:

Can't wait for more!

Great pictures and reviews. My mouth is watering :plooking at that Banana Split cake. Can't wait for more.

Really enjoying this thread, great photos! :thumbsup2

Enjoying your reviews and of course the pix are GREAT.

What do you mean by Somerfest-Samantha Brown? Did you see her there?

We love the BW Bakery and CM Cafe. Can't wait to hit the bakery everyday on our trip this summer.

Can't wait to hear about Whispering Canyon. We've never eaten here before and are trying it for the first time in June.

This looks like it is going to be a great thread!!

I have a question on the suggestion of the fruit plate from BW Bakery. We have found in the past that the "good" snacks seem to have been depleted by the time we return to our resort at the end of the day. Did you find that BW had this delicious looking plate o' fruit later in the evening? Or do you need to claim one earlier in the evening?

Yes! Most of the time we have gotten the fruit plate it has been around 9:00 at night...and we usually get two. They have all the wonderful pastries in the counter, but tons of them still back in the refrigerator behind the counter. Now, we usually go to WDW at lower times of the year, but never a problem.

Enjoying your reviews and of course the pix are GREAT.

The Samantha Brown reference was a note to myself...I just copy pasted. But I believe I'll do that review right now and answer your question!

My reviews here for WCC are for a regular dinner in January and Thanksgiving dinner from the November trip. Both were fantastic, but Thanksgiving was beyond good!

I love this little place - and as we wandered through World Showcase, enjoying the Santas from around the world and the decorations, we decided to stop for a snack. DH wanted a pretzel and I love brats and sauerkraut. Yes, we live in Wisconsin and can taste the exotic at Epcot and instead I opt for the standard picnic and football fare from home.

What can I say? It was November (or early December) and picnics up here were a long way off...

I stood in line after ordering (very pleased that a pretzel counted as a dessert so we weren't saddled with a dessert we didn't want, and using a snack credit for the pretzel DH did want) and was idly listening to a conversation behind me. It was an older gentleman with a nicely dressed CM deciding to order two brats "in case she drops one". I laughed to myself because that sounds like me.

Then the other snippets were "Shoot by the fountain...passport to Europe...take a bite of the brat..." By this time it was fairly obvious to this Travel Channel addict that they were shooting the Samantha Brown Disney Christmas Special The DIS had reported was going to happen.

Too soon my meal was up and as I turned around I smiled at the producer and said "I'm so sorry to eavesdrop but I just wanted to say we love your show." He was extremely genuine and nice and thanked me and said how much he loves to hear things like that. ( I can imagine!)

I went over to our table, where DH and DS were sitting right in the doorway of the restaurant out towards the fountain. I told DH about the conversation and then we looked over at the fountain to see a lovely woman sitting there, alone and uninterrupted, reading some stapled papers. I remember thinking I loved her shoes but DANG they must be hard to walk in! (High heeled espadrilles??)

The best part - I got DS's attention and gestured to her and said, "Max...do you know who that is?"

He looked closely and then said "Oh - that's Samantha," and went back to the pretzel. :rotfl:

Oh to be six and just believe that Samantha Brown lives at Disney - of COURSE she's here Mom...we have all those shows taped at home of her...duh!

I was able to take a photo and then they began shooting. I made DH get up to take some shots and you'll never believe....

THE CAMERA BATTERY DIED!!!!!!!! :scared:

He did take some photos on my phone though.

We were able to sit back and watch her as she eats the brat, sits by the fountain and talks about how sauerkraut was a family tradition for her at Christmas growing up in her German family home. She taped it twice (three times??) and as you know if you saw the show - it made the cut.

She was SO gracious and SO genuinely nice to pose with people and chat with guests and it was so nice to see someone who is seems so likeable on her show really act that way with fans/guests.

We also attended the same Candlelight Processional as she did on that trip and when we got home and watched the special, it was doubly great for us.

So how was the food?

The brat rivals Wisconsin's best, the roll and sauerkraut were great and the pretzel was warm and chewy and good with mustard.

But seriously - this was one meal that was overshadowed by the company ;)

And here is my only good photo of Samantha Brown checking her scripts. The others are on my cell phone and I have to figure out how to get them off.

It was a nice day!

 I am so jealous!!! I love her!!!! Thanks for the celebrity shot!

enjoying your reviews...especially since we are staying at the Swan and can actually get to some of these places this time.

thanks

Loving the pictures and reviews!! :thumbsup2 The chocolate pretzel sounds so good. Must remember for trip!!

WOW!!! I am so jealous too. I adore Samantha Brown and my kids know who she is too. I'm glad to hear she is as sweet in person as she is on her show.

I'm the same way when it comes to snacking in Epcot. I would love to be adventurous and try something exotic and new, but no, I stick with the food that is known to me. Someday I will come out of my shell.

Can't wait to read more reviews.

your reviews are so great - and I love love love that you take pics of your DS's food too! I (at 26) have the exact same eating habits as your DS - oooh cornbread and chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and cookies and cakes! yum! :) Looking forward to more!

This was a meal we had during MVMCP. DH picked the items - grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a water and a bbq sandwich with fries and a water.

DH says the BBQ sandwich was good. I can't report on the grilled chicken sandwich because I really wanted a cheeseburger, asked for a cheeseburger, reminded DH that I wanted to get a cheeseburger and he forgot/didn't listen/ignored me/blew it off and bought me plain grilled chicken with no sauce, no veggies, nothing.

And five months later, I'm way over it - can you tell? :rotfl:

Seriously - it was a cold and rainy night and we were both really crabby because I remember the combination of the cheeseburger that wasn't and DH getting upset with DS for some reason leading to a bit of a tiff.

Yet what is that saying? A bad day at Disney is better than a good day at home? I can still buy it... ;) And since DH is sitting here next to me laughing at the memory it couldn't have been that bad. :goodvibes

The bottles of water were both sipped on the rest of the night and I believe the chocolate cakes ended up on the wall next to Dumbo where I waited for DH and DS to finish riding.

cosmicraysbbqandgrilledchicken.jpg

IN summary, Cosmic Rays is usually a great place to eat and DS LOVED dancing one on one with Chip and Dale (his faves) after eating. And I seem to remember from past trips that they have great cheeseburgers with a nice fixings bar too...

Okay - NOW I'm over it...

We stopped here for lunch after a rousing game of Miniature Golf and Winter Summerland (for those of you who haven't done this - do it! It's a blast!)

We always get a salad and a sandwich and split them. First up - the Cobb salad:

eoscobb.jpg

greens, turkey, swiss cheese, cranberries (yes, cranberries!), bacon, tomatoes, cucumbers all tossed with ranch dressing. SO good!

We combined this with the Earl's Original Sandwich with extra horseradish:

Awesome EOS bread, rare-ish roast beef, melted cheddar and a creamy horseradish sauce - not too spicy, but very very good. This is my all time favorite here and we always order it.

I don't have a photo - but on our January trip we stopped and also ordered the BLT. Holy Bacon Batman! Very good, but almost too much bacon.

DS picked out the cucumbers and cheese from the salad and got his own fruit cup:

He also was more than happy to help us put this away:

I have no idea why these cupcake tops are so good - but I have a weakness for buttercream and sprinkles. DS inherited it from me  . Together, we finished up the cupcakes while DH finished the sandwich.

EOS has spotty service and is almost always insanely crazy, with a very fast moving line. We always sit outside on the patio and enjoy the fountain in front of Once Upon a Toy. The food quality is pretty consistent for us and we do really like it a lot.
