I have how many food pix? Time for a dining review!! Completed!

The list looks great! You have a "cuisine" setting!? :thumbsup2

Thanks all! I love doing these and it helps the time pass until the next trip!

The list looks great! You have a "cuisine" setting!? :thumbsup2

I do!!! Isn't that hilarious! It's an Olympus Stylus 790. A friend bought one (in lime green!) before the January trip and I was playing with it during dinner at WCC...I found the "cuisine" setting and laughed out loud and knew I HAD to have my own! Mine is tangerine orange - not even I can lose it!

(The other reasons we wanted it were the shockproof to 5 feet and waterproof to 10 feet deep - can't wait to use it at WDW!)

We love the BW Bakery - they have the most lovely pastries and it is a great place to stop in the evening after dinner when you're wandering the Boardwalk.

One of our favorites has always been the Banana Split Cake:

I usually really love this, but this time I realized that what I enjoy the most is the whipped cream top. The cake/cheesecake part is good, but there is nothing like fresh sweetened whipped cream.

We also got a chocolate pretzel - we had seen this recipe in one of our DVC magazines and thought the incredibly labor intensive recipe was right up there on the "yeah...right!!!" list of things I'll make. That said, we wanted to try one when the effort was "a chocolate pretzel please" and handing over the room charge:

These are very good - the pretzel itself tastes like puff pastry and dark chocolate and although you can't see it here, the bottom is lined in chocolate. The top is covered in sugar - it looks like salt, but isn't. It was a wonderful treat that we shared on the plane home the next day :(

And earlier trip to the BW Bakery led to this choice for DS: A Mickey Cake!

To me, it was cute. Bue he loved the taste too and that was what was important!

A little hint about the BW Bakery if you're there at night and have some CS meals to use up...the fruit plate is amazing good! You can get this, a dessert pastry and a drink and save the fruit for the next morning for breakfast. We do this almost every time we stay at the Beach Club Villas:

Oranges, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, melon, grapes, and strawberry yogurt...a perfect leisurely breakfast in the room!

Drooling and subscribing!
The French pastry shop- love it but it had no mustard last visit for our ham/cheese on a baguette! So there is mustard there now?

This is a challenging one...as a buffet, it's hard to review it based on what we liked, because we probably skipped a lot of things others enjoy. In fact: DISCLAIMER: We don't like seafood that much...so yes, it's a "clambake" and we skip the headliner...

DS's plate:

He loves him some chicken nuggets and corn bread. Other items featured on his oh so healthy plate of yum yums include the WDW Mac and Cheese and cheese pizza. Nary a vegetable to be seen. Honest - he does eat them without being forced. I swear!

One of DH's plates:

cmcdinner.jpg

Okay - this is the exception to the seafood ban: peel and eat shrimp. Also an assortment of greenery. A few trips back DH tried mussels from CMC and declared them pretty eh. He couldn't get past the appearance. We did, however, come up with a very non DISappropriate nickname for them and
that made it worth it. :rotfl:

My plate #1:

cmcplate.jpg

Chicken nugget (yum!), caesar salad (very good), olives (I LOVE olives!), chicken alfredo pasta (very good) and red potato salad (I would almost go to CMC solely for this salad...it's that good!

My plate #2:

cmcplateII.jpg

roasted sirloin and horseradish (very good!), more pasta, mac and cheese (love it), mashed potatoes with just a touch of butter  , a chicken leg (didn't eat), a bbq rib (didn't really eat) and tons of pepper on everything (added by me).

I know DH had more than the one plate but I was obviously too distracted by my butter and the pepper shaker to take a photo...

And then desserts!

DS's award winning choice:

Classic!

A plate DH brought back:

cmcdessertsII.jpg

DH love love loves the Oreo Bon Bon - the two brown lovelies in the middle of the plate. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, this is truly amazing good and blows the zebra domes from Boma out of the water. It is an Oreo cookie, topped with a cookies and cream mousse, sprayed (???) with more chocolate and topped with chocolate frosting. Heaven! I've also seen this recipe on allears and it is right next to the pretzel on the list of "too labor intensive for me!" There is also a cheesecake and a small tart/pie

Another plate of desserts:

More of the same with a pecan tart and some blueberry flan added :thumbsup2

Wow those desserts look GREAT!!! And I'm now trying to figure out a way to get over to Boardwalk - chocolate pretzels???!!! I never knew such a thing existed. I need to try one!! Great reviews!!

We have not eaten at Cape May since Oct 07, that chicken alfredo dish and blueberry flan look new, have not seen them on my last 4 trips there. Really looking forward to going back there in Oct

May I ask how much the Mickey Cake costs? I think I want one!

This looks like it is going to be a great thread!!

I have a question on the suggestion of the fruit plate from BW Bakery. We have found in the past that the "good" snacks seem to have been depleted by the time we return to our resort at the end of the day. Did you find that BW had this delicious looking plate o' fruit later in the evening? Or do you need to claim one earlier in the evening?

I'm not sure, but not much...I believe we used a snack credit, so under $4...? DS just loved it!
