I have found having a laundry in the Villa is important to us.

^^ agree with the above - laundry + big bed is key to the 1br. What is scary is that then you think you want ("need") a 2BR so you can bring a grandparent or have the living room to relax after the kids go to sleep.

Oh no…. I said this to my husband on our last trip! Our boys are 5 & 7 and I was thinking “what happens when they can’t share a bed!”

Our girls are 10 & 6. You could find a resort that has 2 beds in the LR?
PS I am very good at rationalizing:
-Before each kid turned 3, I said we needed to go to WDW more to "save money" on buffets and child tickets.
-Now, we need to go before they become old and jaded teens and don't want to spend time w us any more.
-I anticipate in 2 years or so, we will still need to keep going because then they will be old enough to stay up long enough to make the after hours/parties worth it.
-soon after that, my older kid will be 14 and she and her sister can go to the parks by themselves
-then they can bring friends, etc, before they go to college... sniff!

Just got back from a 2BR stay at RR. Did several loads of laundry and wish I hadn't read this thread ! It was nice coming home and not filling up the laundry basket with dirty clothes though.
Planning a 4-night stay for next November for DH and I and am struggling with the difference between the RR standard view DS and 1BR - 74 pts vs. 160 pts. That’s more than 2X! The king bed, large living room, full size fridge plus washer/dryer would be really nice but we don’t need the full sized kitchen. Have 193 pts remaining in my 2022 UY and the rest of my points are resale and can’t be used at RR.
I already have the standard view DS booked to save points but will be looking to switch to 1BR at a different resort for less points than Riviera at 7 months. But really want an Epcot area resort for Food&Wine and will be happy to stay at RR again if BWV or BCV are not available. Problem is my 7-month window opens up after my banking deadline.
Splurge or be a point miser?

I will admit, I’m a germaphobe.

Who in god’s name is using cloth diapers while at disney world? That woudl be the biggest pain in the universe.

Ok, we now have the 1 bedroom bug. Since we have a good summer stay lined up in studios already (AKV Value and VGF Standard) we will be doing studios over the summer but will be looking for a 1BR for next Christmas and then probably for the foreseeable future….
