I finally got the OK from my hubby to return to DW in 2007 instead of 2008. :thumbsup2 After much planning and looking at school district schedules, I decided to go May 24-June 3, 2007. I liked these dates because it's the end of the school year and before rainy season and not too hot like July. Well, hubby convinced me to invite his brother's family of 4 along w/us. Okay, everything good, right??? WRONG!!! I just read that Gay Days happen the first Saturday in June but everyone starts coming down about a week before. Well, if it was just my family, I'd be "cool w/it" but my sister-in-law will freak out cause she's one of those "snobby-frowny-better than everyone else" kind of people and will not want to go along with us then. How do I convince her that it's going to be okay? Should I just not tell her? Should I just go a week before intentionally planned to appease her and take the kids out of school a week early?? :confused3 I don't know what to do now!!! Help me plan my dates!!!

:sad2: :sad2:

I don't know if this will help you......

We were there last year during the gay days. There was nothing overt that we saw. Will she be upset by ????? I looked at the schedule and they will be in the MK the first saturday. Does this help??

Personally, I would just not mention it. Unless she reads about it, I doubt she will notice. Also, there will be a lot of high school bands there for their annual trips. I just would schedule a park other than MK on Saturday.

We've been to WDW twice. Both at the same time of year--as soon as school let out. I never noticed anything unusual. Just don't mention it and you will have a great time. And if she does notice anything, play dumb.

I wouldnt tell her. She probably wont ever know the difference. If she asks, I would probably just look at her like she is crazy for thinking it is an issue.

We had the same issue--the week before (may 21) or the week that started end of May through first of June.

The deciding factor for us was --CROWDS. I just didn't want to start my vacation on a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and end it with the a large group gathering. I felt it was setting that week up to be more crowded than the week before.

Plus--with Monday being a holiday we get a "bonus day" added to our vacation. Instead of rushing home Sunday we can go home Monday--no one needs to be at work Monday. Since DGS is in Pre-K my son decided he could miss the last week. IMHO, I think that week will be less crowded. And the bottom line at Disney--the less crowded the better.
