I have about 10 bruises on my leg from our dog's nails!

You should see my leg it looks like I have some kind of disease! I have so many bruises it's pathetic and what is it from? Our Miniature Pinscher! I have a habit of sitting in the recliner, usually in shorts when I don't have anything to do. Well I usually have my right leg tucked under my left and the place with the bruises is the bullseye for our dog to jump on.

I try and keep her nails clipped but even afterwards they still hurt especially when all 12 pounds and 4 legs hit my leg.

So any answers? I don't mind her being in my lap but I do mind the bruising. Not so much now in the winter when I don't wear shorts outside but this can't carry on into summer. Anyone else have this problem and how did you solve it?

My Yorkshire Terrier constantly scratches and bruises my legs. Dbf thinks it's hilarious that such a small dog can do so much damage. The only think that helps is to wear thicker clothes, or lift him onto my lap when he want to sit with me.

My 50 pound dog jumps up in my lap and I don't get bruises, so I don't know what to tell you...

Sorry... My dog is twenty pounds and only jumps up when invited. I don't allow her to jump up into my lap when I've got bare legs. I reach down and pick her up instead.

But she's ridiculously obedient - and I never even trained her! She just never wants to do things without checking with me first. Even when she barks at a stranger, she'll glance over at me, bark twice at our door, and then look back to check that she's really allowed to do this.
