The model # is vivicam 5100. The date function is turned on to where the date automatically shows on the picture...Can someone tell me how to turn that function off...I cant find it in the manual...TIA

It is on page 61 of the manual.

Capture Menu
In the Capture menu, you can determine the conditions you would like to choose such as Size, Quality, Scene, EV,
White Balance, ISO, Color, Saturation, Sharpness and Date Imprint.

Hmmm, I found the instructions on page 66 of your manual (link).

Under the Capture menu, go down to the very very bottom of the list. The list goes down to a 2nd screen of options.

At the very bottom of the list, there's an option for "Date Imprint". Set that to "OFF".

Hope that helps!

one more question...and i cant find this either...If i took a picture, i turn off the date imprint and now i go and save it on the computer, will the date be there still?? or will i have to retake the pic??

again thanks for your help.

The date should automatically be imbedded in the picture's "metadata". Metadata is extra data that is included inside the picture.

If you have a PC, the easiest way to view this metadata (and the date) is to right-click the photo, select "Properties". The date should be there. Also, there's more data under the "Details" tab, too.

If you're using a photo editing program, you should be able to view the date there, too.

for any pics taken while date imprint was turned on, it will remain on the image once you turn date imprint off
