I have a quick AP question.

We are set to be heading to dine with the mouse from Aug 30 - Sept 3. We are staying at ASMo with 2 rooms and we have 5 day park hopper tickets. We have 7 adults and 1 child. I was thinking about upgrading my ticket to an AP because my family is planning on going again in February and I would like to take another trip in may. How would I be able to upgrade to the AP but still get free dining if this is at all possible. I would also be looking into getting the DDE card for the other trips.

All you need for free dining is a one-day ticket. You should be OK if you are upgrading.

How would I be able to make just my ticket a one day? I was under the impression that everyone in the room had to have the same amount of tickets? Would it be worth while to just keep the tickets the way they are and just upgrade like the 2nd day?

We are considering the same for November. It is my understanding (I ask ALOT of questions) that in order to obtain the dining plan, you do need to buy a one day ticket with dining (on top of your AP). This will give you dining for the duration of your trip. You can then save that one day ticket and add it onto your AP the next year. BUT everyone in your room has to do the exact same I believe.

You should be able to take ANY (unexpired) MYW ticket to guest services to upgrade it to an annual pass. Once you've used the first day the upgrade to the AP will be backdated to your first day of use.

So, stick with the 5 day passes that everyone else wants and then just upgrade yours.

I just booked my trip and we have some ap's and some regulars everything was run on the nights we are staying and we (ap'ers) no longer have to but a one day pass to get the dining it is based on the number of nights. Put if you are getting the annual pass and are planning to use it 2 more times this year you will more than recoup you money from buying the dining plan. Not counting the discount you will be receiving from being an ap for some resturants and merchandise. We are going to buy the dde for the evenings that we used 2 ts and then we are going to use it for our two trips.

My DH and I went last year for our honeymoon during free dining. It was his first time and the only way I got him to go was to promise to never ask to go again Well, our last night there he insisted that we get APs and join DVC We just went to the ticket counter and they upgraded our tickets to APs and just backdated it to the first day we used them.

So, you should have no problem upgrading them once you get there. I think that would be the easiest thing with the free dining situation.

Yup that's what I did. I didn't want to mess with my tickets that we bought with our package and risk something go wrong with my DDP. So on my last day after having gone to the parks and using our DDP we went to DTD guest relations and I upgraded my MYW ticket to an AP and it was backdated to the first day of use.
