Ok, so I invited one of my "best friends" to the Harry Potter Midnight showing, and her mother told her she couldn't go because of the "Creeps" who go the show.
So me and my sister go to the show, and she is there with two other girls!
I was so angry that she had lied to me! If she had just been honest and said hey, Robin I am already going with someone who the heck cares?

But no, she lied and she said her excuse is that her mom new her other friends better.

Now the worst part of it is that I got her a job. I was nice enough to get her hired at my place, and she lied to me...
What would you do?

Confront her, kindly, and ask "I saw you at the show last night..what's up? I thought you couldn't go? If you were already planning on going with some other people, you could have just told me."

Then let her explain herself. She probably just felt bad because she was already planning going with other friends, and didn't want to let you down or cause drama. I'm sure it was innocent.

Good luck!

I did confront her and her explanation was that she just kept bugging her mom, and she caved because she knew her other friends better.

Whatever else you decide to do, move forward carefully. You don't want to accuse her or anything...you just want to understand what happened. Her not telling you is a sign of her dishonesty, and you probably want to do something to make sure that it doesn't continue in the future...that would put a serious damper on you friendship. And you don't want to ruin a friendship over Harry Potter...

Well that's a reasonable explanation. Are you two new bffs? And has she known the other girls longer?
If so, then there's no reason to be super upset. Yeah, she could have told you, but it sounds like it was all innocent.

I know my mom would have done the same thing. If I was newly good friends with someone, and she hasn't gotten to known the new friend, she wouldn't have let me out at late at a young-ish age.
