Now that I'm engaged I have millions of REAL questions. My fiance is sitting here with me, we're snowed in, wanting to help plan... so adorable. I was worried about the $15000 minimum before when we thought we would be having a summer wedding in 2010.... but now I have to jump that to 25 because I want a Saturday in premium season. I just have to, it's Halloween. My parents are planning on helping now!!! I did not want to ask them, but they offered! I figured I'll be 30 in June 2010, I should be able to pay it myself. My dad thought otherwise... go dad! Here are the questions...
- how do i post pics on here?
- has anyone been married on halloween?
- is orange a tacky bridesmaid color? maybe black dresses with orange ribbon?
- is it weird that i'm getting married in disney even though my sister, cousin, and coworker all did? I LOVE DISNEY!!!
- who's the best wedding planner, should i try and request one?
- if epcot is booked, since it's within the 12 months already, the wp prob isn't given away yet because of the 8 month requirement.... do you think I can do something slightly halloween inside????

The excitement to plan is addicting!! Congratulations on getting started!

To answer your questions:

- to post pics you must upload them to a hosting site like photobucket or shutterfly. There will be an "IMG" code/url for the image that you can then copy and paste in your message.

- IIRC there has been at least one bride married on Halloween. Several others considered it...most people think it's pretty cool!

- I like the idea of black dresses with orange accents (flowers, sash, etc) better than orange dresses....but you know, purple is another option too!

- you're asking a bunch of Disney brides if it's weird that you want to get married at Disney!?!?!?! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Just kidding - NO it's not weird! ;) Each wedding is unique so even though all those other family members were married there YOUR wedding will be different!

- unless things have changed, you are assigned a coordinator. You may be able to request one but there is no guarantee. We had Jennifer O'Leary for our coordinator and we thought she was fantastic!

- since you are a Wishes bride, you have the "first priority" for the WP. Are you planning to call Disney on Monday? I'm betting you can still get an Epcot location. One bride did a medieval theme at the pavilion and it was really nice. You won't be able to really change the decor of the pavilion and the "look" may clash with a Halloween theme...but if it's what you want, GO FOR IT!!!

Hope that helps!

- To post photos, upload your photos to photobucket.com and then you copy the image url and paste it into your post.

- I am sure tons of brides have gotten married on Halloween.

- Are you looking for 2010 or 2009? Which location are you interested in the World Showcase? Also, if having a wedding inside a them park you can not use outside vendors for floral or photography. What about the great movie ride in Hollywood Studios, all the extras that are in costume would be cool. I think the WP is also available at the 12 month mark (we signed at 12 months) it just depends on your reception location I believe. Convention centers (Ballrooms) can not be signed for until 8 months.

-The best thing to do would be to call Disney and get assigned a sales manager if you are getting married in '09. If you are planning for 2010 then it is a little too early to call.

- You can request a wedding planner but you probably won't get them. Not trying to be a downer but it is based on their schedules and they don't weigh the requests very heavily if it conflicts with another wedding. You may get lucky though.

- I think going with a beautiful burnt orange would be nice or a black dress and orange flowers. I don't know that I would go all black and orange for a wedding but I am sure it can be pulled off gracefully. Maybe black and red? That tends to be a popular color scheme.

- I would suggest the Tower of Terror courtyard in Hollywood Studios for reception after a Wedding Pavilion ceremony. It would have to be a late reception though since it has to start 2 hours after park closing.

congratulations on your engagement! there is nothing wrong with getting married on Halloween! ...especially in Disney! If you were thinking of doing black dresses, what about orange and purple flowers?
My fiance proposed in Disney on Halloween last year...We'll be down there the week of your wedding for our honeymoon! :)
happy planning! :goodvibes

- I think Alissa got married right near or on Halloween. (Alissa2008 I think) - look for her PJ for info. We've also had brides who have gotten married with a nightmare before christmas theme which has been very halloweeny! So it does happen and it comes off well.
- I think Pumpkin would be nice. Not so much bright orange, but I agree - purple would be a good color as well.
- Disney rocks! If anyone complains about your choice, we're all here to provide sympathy as we've all gone through it.:goodvibes
- You're probably going to get a wedding coordinator at this point and I have Pam Pearce who I think is awesome!
- I don't think the WP is very halloween feeling. You should be able to get something at Epcot, but I would call first thing tomorrow to start the ball rolling!

Now where are the other 999,994 questions you promised?! :rotfl:

PS - I'll be 30 in 2011, and my dad thought elsewise about the wedding as well. GO DADS!:thumbsup2

Congratulations!

You are going to love working with Disney and a halloween wedding will be amazing.

We had our reception at MGM Studios (when it was still called that) with a Fantasmic Cocktail Hour, Drinks and a ride at Coaster Courtyard and then our dinner was in Muppets Courtyard. The entire evening was a dream come true!
