Normally we go light to WDW, but this time we are taking min 3 large suitcases and 3 carry on ( maybe 4) as we are taking DD back to college. We are flying SW so cost of bags not an issue, just fitting them into an Impala to get from WDW to Sarasota w/4 people. We can get creative with packing, we have smaller size bags that we can use instead of 3 large,( but will have at least 2 large for sure) and just check those in the plane as those may be more flexible to fit into the car...but for those that own an Impala, can you fill me in? DH drives a Pontiac Grand Prix and the trunk can hold a lot... renting amini van or SUV was more expensive than booking a limo to Sarasota one way...no joke....sooooooo, any help out there? Thanks !

I think you'll have more than enough room. I drive my 2003 Honda Accord to the airport. I have to arrange our luggage just right - like a puzzle - to get it all in the trunk. When I've rented Impalas, I just throw everything in the trunk randomly, and then have a panic attack because I think I must have lost a bag or two along the way because there's so much extra room!

Everything that gets shoehorned into the Accord's trunk in two layers and in funky orientations, pretty much fits flat in one layer in the Impala's trunk.

This goes back to when we'd have 3 adult suitcases, a medium suitcase with the booster in it, a full-sized rolling carry-on, a laptop case, and at least one backpack.

Pam,

You should have no problem fitting your luggage into an Impala. My work bought one last year mostly because of the amount of room in the trunk. It is quite spacious. :)

Awesome!:thumbsup2 lol...Brettb, your post about thinking you forgot a bag... I have to write down the number of bags that get checked, and the number of carry-ons and put that info in my wallet...so we have them all as well.
Thanks so much guys! 28 days 'till our quick trip!

You should be fine. We have an Impala and it's really roomy, both for passengers and the trunk. So, even if you find it hard to fit everything in the trunk (which I don't think you will), some of the carryon will fit in the backseat with the 2 people who sit back there.

We love when we get Impalas because the trunk is massive. We fit routinely 2 big suitcases, 5 carryons (rolling or backpacks), the rolling carseat bag (with carseat removed, of course!) and two strollers with plenty of room to spare.
